Re: Canadian players

PETER WON! YEEEEES!

Peter Polansky def. Tsung-Hua Yang 7-5, 6-3

And I have some very good news.. the Danish guy Frederik Nielsen beat Dodig today! Which should make for an easier 3rd round qualifying match for Peter.

Maybe 4 or 5 if he wants to get more of a workout in.

Right - just like Rieschick last week I suppose?

Peter is nowhere near good enough to be heavily favoured against Nielsen. I'm glad he beat Yang, but that doesnt necessarily mean he beats Nielsen. In fact, these are the matches he tends to lose. So I'm cautiously optimistic, but won't be shocked he plays a stinker in the next round.

Oh well.. at least he made it to the third round and gets 6 points. But yeah, you are right.. He tends to lose against guys like Nielsen. However, it is better than playing against Dodig, right?

Re: Canadian players

nielsen next hey? while i have to admit im stunned, he took down the 2 biggest obstacles to peter's qualifying. That means he obviously has to be playing very well right now to beat reischick and dodig so it wont be a walk in the park for peter.

Re: Canadian players

Go Peter and Milos!

Wonderful news to wake up to! I'm surprised Dodig lost - seemed like a close match. He'll be tough to beat buuut I still think Peter can do it if he's on his game.

Re: Canadian players

Both made the final round of qualifying though so that is a good start.

Peter Polansky
Nestor - Chvojka - Pospisil - Raonic - Peliwo

I know... But it's not like Nielsen was on fire and bagled the guy. It was two close sets that ended in tiebreaks. Granted, the guy is playing well. But I still think it's better for Peter to face Nielsen than Dodig, just because I think he has a slight higher chance of beating Nielsen. Still, it's going to be tough. No doubt about that.. But Peter can do it. I have faith in him! And if he doesn't.. Well, at least he reached the final qualifying round, and that should earn him some points at least

Re: Canadian players

Good luck to Peter and Milos today I think both should be favoured, though I am wary about whether Peter can deliver, hopefully he can get it done.

Milos will be up around 10 PM eastern, Peter in the early morning

Milos got down an early break but it's back on serve 4-3 Milos, is it just me or is he serving a lot of aces, 7 in 4 games, and 6 in the last 2 games

Re: Canadian players

I think everyone should play as fast as Milos, man he doesn't even wait for you to get your seat warm and the match is over. I know Nadal is good but watching him sometimes is painful, I mean 2, 2 and 2 in 2 and a half hours, yeash.

Re: Canadian players

On those last four points, Milos had a crack at 4 second serves and didn't do anything with them.

This would be a really, REALLY tough set to lose if he does lose it

Pulls out the tiebreaker. Let's hope Ito folds like a cheap tent here.
