Re: Happy Canada Day!

We had a huge BBQ (almost 40 people) in my sister's place with many cousins and their families visiting from Overseas and other cities. But I have the flu and was miserable (and still pretty miserable) hiding in my niece bedroom as I could not stand the little kids screaming. I did not want to be there but my mom insisted as I missed the lunch in a restaurant earlier that day already.

well it was a big tennis day so I spent half the day watching Wimby. I tried to go for a short bike ride but my knee was not feeling great so I cut it even shorter. Then I went to visit my grandmother.

I'm happy that there were almost no 'home fireworks' in my neighbourhood. There were a lot on Victoria Day and it was really annoying. So much noise, but there's nothing to see. Maybe one in 10 send up some pathetic little spark, rest just make noise. And people just set them off in front of the apartment building -- they don't even go to a field or park. I don't understand the appeal; go see a pro show if you like fireworks, they are almost all free. People with no training, too drunk to read instructions, blowing shit up in a residential neighbourhood...
