I am up in northern Ontario with alternatively slow to no net access .. Probably not fully online until after cincy (just limited text and score updates) ... Missed qf sf and finals .. And from what it looks like a barrage of hate for Milos on mtf .. Terrible timing but hopefully we will see two Canadians in top 20 soon and these kind of weekends are not all that uncommon :-)

Anyways if someone can post best match highlight videos and reports that would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Rogers Cup

So if Milos and Vasek will directly get into the main draw because of their good rankings, who will get the 4 main draw wildcards?

my main draw wildcard predictions.
1. Frank Dancevic
2. Peter Polansky
3. Filip Peliwo
4. non-Canadian player (like a Baghdatis, Hewitt, Muller, etc)

qualifying wildcards
1. Pavel Krainik
2. Erik Chovjka
3. Steven Diez
4. Brayden Schnur

Schnur struggles lately, losing 1st round and 2nd round in Canadian futures, and first round in the NCAA's though it was to the eventual champ, he did get a win in Granby but the opponent wasn't anywhere near what he'd face in a RC MD. I think if you just throw him into the main draw you're throwing him to the wolves. Plus Diez qualified this week in Atlanta(thanks to weird De Bakker situation who he now plays again) so he'd probably be more competitive.

Possibly Chvojka instead of Di Feo as he'd probably be more competitive if he plays like he can/has. What's up with Levine? He would obviously get a QWC if he's healthy as well.

Re: Rogers Cup

I think the way Peliwo has been playing he should be in the QD, not main, but that won't happen.

Re: Rogers Cup

He's got a WC to Washington so he'll be busy winning washington during RC qualies (sarcasm)

He hasn't been playing ell but there really isn't anyone else, and he did get a win last year(though Nieminen retired) I think you have to give him a shot to defend that.

Yeah, that's at least partly why I said he will get a WC.

Re: Rogers Cup

3 WC's have been handed out, just 1 to a Canadian [Polansky] so far, with only 1 left will it go to a Canadien, if so whom, it looks like Dancevic to me, so that means Peliwo won't be getting a free ride here, he got one in DC though, so it will have to do, better for him anyway.

Re: Rogers Cup

Dancevic got one according to media releases 3 or 4 days ago. Along with PP, Sock and Kyrgios, so the media was probably right.

Re: Rogers Cup

Looks like I'm going to be able to go to Toronto this year for the first time (not my first time in Toronto, by any means, just my first time to the tournament). It'll be one day only. I'm wondering if anyone has any hints - parking vs. TTC, visiting the practice courts, bringing food vs. buying there, anything else it's important to know.... Any hints/suggestions would be appreciated.

Parking on site is tough unless you get there early. The practice courts are all on-site literally steps away from Centre Court or the other play courts. Food there's not outrageous, but definitely cheaper to bring your own.

Re: Rogers Cup

In case anyone is interested in this for future years...

Parking cost about $12 this year. We ended up taking TTC, as the time using public transportation and driving would be about the same, as would the cost. It was the early rounds so parking seemed plentiful, but I'm sure during later rounds it would be much more difficult. There are shuttles from the parking lots to the grounds. It's possible to walk from the parking lots but some are a fair distance away.

It's definitely worth checking out the smaller courts, even in the early rounds. Maybe especially in the early rounds, as there are so many matches going on. Lots to do, even in rain delays.

We brought some food and that was no problem. We brought water - only water in clear containers is allowed. We did buy some food. It was typical sports event food and prices - like you'd find at baseball, hockey, etc. games. Not a lot of choice - hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza, that kind of thing. I was glad to have brought some fruit, snacks and water for us.

Everything seemed very well organized. I'd recommend going if you've got the chance.
