Filip just won 2 matches in Rimouski Challenger.
Can we have another top 100 Canadian player? :)

Filip is into the semis after winning a 3rd set tiebreak against Rodrigues(Rodrigues' 3rd loss in a row that had been to a canadian). Filip serve for it at 5-4 and had 2 mp at 40-15 before losing 4 straight points. then Rodrigues held, and Filip got down 0-30 on his serve at 5-6 before reeling off the 11 straight points for the victory

I'm not sure on this but he can have a special exemption into Le Goesier next week if he wants it can't he?

Small skinny kid with huge power. When he is on, he is extremely good, he can win points in bunches and when he is off, its the same thing, losing points very fast. Unbelieveable power, when he played Polansky, he hit the ball noticably harder pretty much all the time. Very weak second serve, and the first serve isn't great either, he's small and still looks about 15.

Re: Vasek Pospisil

I think he has very high potential. I don't think his style is like any of the players you mentioned. To compare him to a Canadian, I think of Polansky in style but more power. Maybe Jurgen Melzer would be a comparison or if everything goes right, Davydenko.

Buuu! He lost against Vasek, but for the comments on Twitter, he had a decent match, as well as Vasek. Anybody knows where he plays next?

going back to Vancouver to prepare for a trip he said on twitter. He also said earlier that he's going to play some futures in Europe before playing the junior grand slams so I guess that's the trip he's talking about

Him losing the last match was my fault! No seriously.. it was! I wished him good luck on Twitter, and he lost the next math. I'm jinxing all the Canadian players, because all of them end up losing if I wish them good luck.. it happens every time :(

Please, don't keep wishing them good luck. Hahahaha. If Vasek played like he played today in the finals, no way Filip would have won. Any ways, he had a good week.

he plays on Wedneday again vs. an Argentine. Similar ranking of 571 - should be a good indication of where he is after running the last challenger.

The guy he lost to in the second round (Andis) during the last Futures event ended up winning the whole thing convincingly. Apparently Andis was a great player at one point but had injuries.

After a creditable performance in the Italian Futures, Filip crashes out first round in two successive junior tournaments (today losing 4-6, 0-6 - it wasn't even on clay, as they played indoors because of rain).

On the positive side, he won the doubles last week and is back up to #5 in the junior rankings.
