Re: Canadian Juniors

He trashed McDonald 60 61 back in october so I guess he has a good chance.

He'll probably be at worst 5th in the world next week, which is the highest junior ranking ever achieved by a canadian man. Not bad for someone who was barely able to win a match a few months ago.

Re: Canadian Juniors

From Tebbutt's blog:

I have not spoken much to Peliwo but I discovered a few things on Thursday – that he is of entirely Polish ancestry, that his nickname is “Pepe” and that he has had tennis scholarship offers from USC and UCLA (among others) but is pretty sure he’s going to turn pro instead.

Peliwo into the final with a 6-4l 6-4 win. Final is a re-match against Saville.

Re: Canadian Juniors

I believe only the third Canadian to make the finals in singles at a Grand Slam (Bester and Polansky). Could be the first winner.

Peter Polansky
Nestor - Chvojka - Pospisil - Raonic - Peliwo

Re: Canadian Juniors

He is playing on Rod Laver - how can I watch the match streaming/live? the AO site only allows US traffic to watch the streams.

Re: Canadian Juniors

I'm excited to see this match, if he wins, I think his new ranking will be #2.

Re: Canadian Juniors

TSN has the link on their homepage now, but it just gets stuck loading... doesn't work. None of the LSH links work, either

It works now, they took away the banner link that opens the popup window that didn't work, and just use the one in the right margin (then you maximize to full screen)

Re: Canadian Juniors

He was ranked 21st in the world at the time the seedings were made so that's why he's not seeded. Then the new rankings came out and he moved up to 7th due to his win last week but the seedings were already made so he wasn't seeded

Re: Canadian Juniors

He needs to get into more rallies on Saville's serve, the kid seems to lack any sport of ground game.
