France is beatable. They've also been inconsistent in DC lately. It could be easy, it could be hard, it could be a toss up.

I still think Raonic will take both of his rubbers. Pospisil will depend on a lot of things, form, opponent and surface.

The big question for me is Nestor still going to be playing?

Re: Davis Cup

That's a very unfortunate draw for Canada. France just fired Arnaud Clement and replaced him with Yannick Noah. I know the French players will come together and try to win it for Yannick. The latest generation (Tsonga, Monfils, Gasquet, Simon) know they aren't getting any younger and would like to win once.

I'm sad to see that they introduced fifth set tiebreakers in Davis Cup. That Mayer-Souza (Argentina-Brazil) match was a gem.

Make no mistake, this draw will be very difficult indeed, I would be more inclined to agree with you about Milos and overall if this tie were held in Canada, but since it's in France, it's likely to be on clay, which means that if Milos plays Gasquet and/or Tsonga, the chances of him winning both aren't so good and well we all know how poor Vasek is on clay.

Re: Davis Cup

So the tie will be in Guadeloupe on big surprise, red clay, very interesting location for it, I see it looks like there are some politics happening within the FFT as to why the location was picked, however it may be changed as the costs of hosting it there will be higher than they expected, which were already high, will know on Monday if it stays there.

I think it's official now that they will have the tie in Guadeloupe.

Re: Davis Cup

Guadeloupe is close to home for Nestor and Pospisil, both of whom reside in the Bahamas. I think Tsonga is playing the South American clay circuit, so he should be ready.

Re: Davis Cup

I was hoping to see Pospisil and Raonic playing some of the South American clay tournaments to prepare for the tie against France, but I guess that was wishful thinking. They didn't play in Quito and they aren't playing in Buenos Aires. I wonder if either one of them will play against France.

Tsonga is playing in Buenos Aires. Pospisil, Simon, Monfils and Gasquet are playing in Rotterdam. Three weeks until Davis Cup round one.
