Re: Davis Cup

He had a BP for double break up earlier. As the match goes on, he is the one struggling in return games though.

Anyway, Vashy takes the first set!

Re: Davis Cup

Good effort by Vasek in the TB. He seemed to have lost the ability to return serve, so I wasn't too optimistic.

Oh yeah. Vasek was very good til Vasek 4-1* BP. THen he was very bad til 4-4 BP for Sela then just average til the TB. Good tB though.

Re: Davis Cup

It is kind of Sela to offer DFs on set point and breakpoint as Vasek is having some trouble winning this type of point.

Re: Davis Cup

From *6-4 to 6-8

He needs to try to hug the baseline a bit more. Playing way too deep in the court for my liking.

Re: Davis Cup

OK, 3rd set quickly in the bag. Now the question will be how Sela plays in the 4th. And if Vasek can keep his cool.

Re: Davis Cup

He should have finished this off in straights or at least in 4 sets. Now down a break in 5th.

C'mon Vashy!!!

Re: Davis Cup

I got to say, I've been very impressed with Vasek's fight and fitness this match. I thought he woulda been wore down by now

Re: Davis Cup

Wonderful effort by Vashy - I can't get over how much he has improved mentally from just a few months ago.

His level of confidence going into the fall should be sky-high, after back to back successes in Rogers Cup, US Open and now Davis Cup.
