Re: Davis Cup

Yes!

Obviously a lot harder than it should have been, but what a great comeback, to take two must-win matches in an away tie is definitely tough

Re: Davis Cup

So when are we going to know who they play in the world group playoff?

Re: Davis Cup

Terrific effort from the boys. I am glad both Vasek and Philip were able to redeem themselves today.

Re: Davis Cup

yup, now let's hope for Raonic to recover in time and that we get a nice draw for the playoff.

Re: Davis Cup

Phil has a really nice game as well, Vasek and him played really well today, both of them should really be inside the top 200. I think we can't say that they are mentally weak, but it must be really hard to focus and play your game when you have like 1000 people that are cheering a missed first serve and cheering like they won the tie on double faults.

Admirable job from the boys this week-end and let's hope they can keep it going from here. Funny to see Peter in regular clothes though, can't imagine what he must be thinking being relegated to a number four on a team that was missing our best player and one that should probably have been there.

Re: Davis Cup

Potential opponents:

Home - Russia, Chile
Away - Austria
Lot - India, Czech Rep., Israel, Croatia, Switzerland

Hard to analyze much without knowing Milos' status, but I'd say Romania at home wouldn't be bad. Chile at home would be doable. India at home would be fine, but tough if we had to make that trip. Austrians, Czechs, Swiss and Croats would surely pick clay, Israel probably hard, India grass maybe?

I figure we'll probably lose in September, especially if Milos isn't fit for it, but it's nice to be back at this level, if nothing else. And who knows, if Frank and Milos are back and fit, we could get ourselves a win.
