Re: Erik Chvojka

Erik played well it would seem, but fell in three sets.

This was the first time I ever saw Erik play. It was quite the contrast with Polansky - Peter seems to have much more natural talent and more weapons, but Erik was getting the most of what he had yesterday. Mannarino was off most of the day and Erik was intelligently winning points. At the same time, he missed a ton of easy shots, several weak second serves that he couldn't get back in play.

Overall I left with the impression that Erik's current ranking flatters him compared to his natural talent level, but I can see him time and again outsmarting more gifting players at the challenger and futures level. Look forward to another chance to see him play.

In summary though Mannarino was the more solid player yesterday and deserved to win. Erik got very tight up 3-1 in the third and his level dropped considerably.

Ugh, I was kinda hoping Erik would beat Mannarino. He had a solid chance beating him.

Re: Erik Chvojka

Can someone explain to me why Chvojka has been playing so bad in the last months?!

He has just lost against Albot 6-2 6-2. I remember his match against Dolgopolov in Montreal the last year and I don't really understand why he wins so few fairly easy matches - his last one dates back to Lexington in July..

Based on his recent results, he may be slightly injured or just tired. We used to have a great poster that travelled with Erik often on here, but the MTF clowns made that users leave..you know, sokk and the like..tommyg. Really was too bad.

Re: Erik Chvojka

Erik is the top seed at a futures event in Falun,Sweden. He should be able to win here, the field is rather weak. He's playing on Monday.

Exactly! Even though sokk and tommyg are on my ignore list, they still have made MTF less fun to check and post on.

Re: Erik Chvojka

Erik lost in the Swedish F7 Futures finals to Andreas Vinciguerra of Sweden in straights sets. Not good considering the guy hasnt played a full year of pro tennis in 4 years.
