Yes.

Unfortunately our Canadians don't have a good record on 5th sets played. Polansky has lost both of his; Raonic won one, lost one; Dancevic has lost all of his in recent memory, sometimes in spectacular fashion. Only Pospisil has a positive record, having won the only one he played.

Too bad for Erik - at one point at least he was just 2 points from qualifying. He must be so disappointed.

Re: Erik Chvojka

oh, well. He did okay to come close, but I wonder if he'll ever have such a chance again to get to a GS main draw. Just two points away, as said.

Re: Erik Chvojka

i think what surprises me most is that 2 of the last 3 sets were blow aways for cervantes. You'd think he would have been tired after his match yesterday but it would appear(in that last set anyway) that he is the one who was tired.

Re: Erik Chvojka

Chvojka looking like he is going to crash and burn to Meister (ranked 8**).

Did he lose, what was the score? Meister is one of those underranked college guys so it was a tough match from the start.

Down a break in the third to Garforth-Bles. Maybe he is injured?

Re: Erik Chvojka

Chvojka loses to Brezac in the first round. What a terrible loss. Erik has been losing to mugs like lately. I think his loss at Wimbledon qualies affected him cuz otherwise why the hell would he lose to unranked nobodies like Meister, Brezac and Garforth-Bles. I don't know if his recent form will merit him a Main draw wild card at Rogers Cup. I don't know who stinks more right now, him or Dancevic.

Just give the WC's to Peter, Vashy and Lleyton Hewitt.

Brezac and Meister are actually good players and Chvojka plays a style that can allow him to lose to a player having a good day. Maybe the long season is fatiguing him as well, he does run a lot when he plays.

Nestor - Chvojka - Pospisil - Raonic - Peliwo

Re: Erik Chvojka

Watched the last few games of today's match and Erik looked solid. Matsui did look tired though (from qualifying perhaps).

Erik into the quarters in Lexington, where he faces unseeded McClune. Last Canuck standing this week.
