Vasek against Israel was unreal. Dancevic has had some great moments in DC and he has had some real low moments in DC for us.

never once did i say that. had i believed that i would have posted it. please do not assume.

also you're talking as if we are in the past. they are still very much a part of the davis cup team and the future will tell us more. Frank had a big win in calgary against kuerton almost a decade ago. as well as that big match against granlollers. Frank also had that epic collapse up 2 sets to love in South America 2 years ago. Vasek carried us on his back in Israel but also lost some winnable doubles matches against South Africa and among other disappointing results. it would be crazy to assume one player is better than another in their DC play. they both have contributed immensely to get us to the davis cup semis. enough praise cannot be given for their efforts

I did not assume, I merely asked the question.

Re: Phil Bester

Impressive result today judging from scoreline, beating Di Feo one and love. If Bester reaches the final his ranking will climb to just outside the top 400 and if he wins he'll be in the 370s. I think if he can play without more injury setbacks he'll knock on the door of the top 200.

According to Tennis Canada, Bester will be having hip surgery and out at least 4 months.

Re: Phil Bester

Got a good looking win today, judging from the score, over a player ranked inside the top 400. On his way back to inside the top 300? Got to stay healthy, that's it.

Re: Phil Bester

A win tomorrow will get Bester back to around 480 - he should win over a guy ranked over a thousand and who's had to win three setters to make it to the final. Will be about 350 by year's end, hopefully.

Re: Phil Bester

I hope he can stay injury free for a while, and that he can travel to play tournaments. It seems like the last few years he only played in Canada.

Re: Phil Bester

I wonder what a peak Phil Bester could do on the tour? Crack the top 200? maybe top 150? or dare I say top 100?

Re: Phil Bester

He's on the list for the next Challenger in California. Was on it for Napa Valley too, but couldn't make it to qualilies, obviously. He's still fairly young, by today's standards and talented - I'd say he can reach to about 200, not sure after that.
