Nah it wasn't, the result was really NID, Vasek just doesn't quite know what he's doing out there, vs. a top 10 guy with way more exp. who knows what he's doing obviously.

Yeah, unlike Monaco, Dimi was a winnable match for Vasy, cause Dimi doesn't know what he's doing out there either, he just has more talent I guess.

You can't say 100% he would, had he won the draw could have been different.

Re: Vasek Pospisil

He gets Dustov in R1 of Tashkent, never met before, a pretty winnable match since Dustov is mostly a clay player, though he is playing in his home nation, then probably Golubev in R2, Moriya or Cipolla in the QF, prob. Moriya, prob Tursunov or Jaziri in the semi, I'm going with Dimi, prob Lacko in the final, so it's a tough road ahead for him this week.

Dustov is tough and likely better on a hard court, actually. (I watched take a set off Nishikori in Davis Cup in Japan indoors, last summer.) I think Vasek goes down in a close one.

That's not what his record says, sorry, and DC is different, you know that, right.

Re: Vasek Pospisil

Dustov dusts off Vashy 62, 36, 63, oh well, another sad one, he's gotta win matches like this for sure.

Re: Vasek Pospisil

He's got I. Minar in R2 of Vienna qualys next, never met before, Minar is an average at best indoors player, so this is another very winnable match for Vashy.

Re: Vasek Pospisil

He beat Minar 62, 64, now onto Brown who has beaten Vashy 2 times 2 years ago, both on HC one indoors, so this should be a tough one for him to get through.

Strong last two sets by Vasek today - would like to see him get that match against Haider-Maurer in round 1

Re: Vasek Pospisil

Nice to see him get a good win, after the 1st set breaker loss I thought he was going to lose, but Brown played like crap in set 2 and Vashy played batter, but in the 3rd Vashy's 1st serve% wen't way down, and Brown's wen't way up again, Vashy was able to win all but 1 of his 1st serve PTS and was able to capitalize on Brown's rare 2nd serve's and BP chances, so it was close there, hope he gets another qualy in R1.

He gets H-M just like you said, has beaten H-M already this year indoors, so could make R2.

I'm going to put the Dustov loss down to altitude.
