Re: Vasek Pospisil

I predict an easy win for Ferrer in this one but hopefully, there next encounter will be on more even footing.

Re: Vasek Pospisil

No free point whatsoever from serve means getting slaughtered by Ferru.
Nothing to lose, boy! Go for it! You are not engaged in a long rally with him.

Finally a hold. Pheww...

Re: Vasek Pospisil

Though it was a bit frustrating not to be able to convert any BP, I enjoyed the last game. Return winners

Re: Vasek Pospisil

Besides the shaky start and the last serve game, I think it was pretty good performance. Wish he had held the serve game and stretched it as much as possible though.

These two weeks of qualifying + main draw experience will be a valuable lesson for him in the future. Have a safe flight home.

Re: Vasek Pospisil

I was really impressed. After he got down 4-0 in the first set and ignoring the game where he got broken from 40-0 up he was totally in it, on par with or maybe even slighly better than Ferrer. That's the problem I guess, against top players you're not allowed to have those lapses. He was right in it against Fed until 5-5 and then lost 4 straight games and that was enough for the bad, bad start and bad finish here was enough. Good learning experiance though, now he can go back and finish the year with those 2 american challengers, hopefully with good enough results to make the aussie opne directly next year

Re: Vasek Pospisil

He will need probably between 50 to 70 points in the final two American challengers to get in directly, which probably translates into 2 SFs at least, taking into account the subtraction of his 17th and 18th results. It will be tough, but he can make it easy on himself if he just wins one of the challengers, no big deal

Also, to sokk, I know you seem to think he skipped the challenger tour, but he was in 12 challengers this year. He had 3 SFs, 6 QFs, 1 R16 and 2 R32. That seems like a lot of success to me, and he could try the next stage with results like that.
