Yet, he keeps on losing to the same guy over and over and over again. I refuse to support such a weak minded player. It's a mental block. Like I said, he's good enough to beat him, yet he can't. If he wasn't GOOD ENOUGH then that would be a different story, but I know he's good enough to beat him. His strong mentality go down the drain every time they play together though. It's embarrassing to watch.

Unfortunately for the squad, and all the assorted board members, assistants, associates and suits along for the trip, if Pospisil gets to pick where they’ll hold the celebratory dinner, it’s more than likely going to be …

I admit I laughed every time they showed Subway Sandwich commercial during a court change, as if it was arranged for him.

FYI

From a fan: hey, give @VasekPospisil a Subway, he earned it Sep 18th
Fred: Ha Ha great Twitte!! You are right, the next 3 Subs are on me.
Quote:
Stephanie: Which leads to the burning question: do they have Subway in Ramat Hasharon? Sep 16th
Fred: I tried to divert VP when I saw "subway" but it didn't work. It's like VP smells this resto chain from miles away.
Stephanie: Seriously, dude, NY delis make the most delish subs. Subway has one flat piece o'meat, half a piece o' cheese.
Vashy: If u ever want to interview me again, I suggest u don't insult my favorite restaurant. Subway is another level :P

Fred: Favorite resto for lunch @VasekPospisil SUBWAY, Subway for breakfast, lunch, and dinner Sep 3rd

Vasek has withdrawn from the Tashkent challenger where he was the 6th seed.

Makes sense - he must be so tired and sore. No point travelling all the way there just to get bundled out in the first round.

Re: Vasek Pospisil

A different look Vasek.

This is from Tebbutt's excited post-win post: http://www.lovemeansnothing.ca/blog/v-for-vasek

I like the final bit:

On the court after the match, he was overjoyed and particularly pleased to celebrate with his coach Fred Niemeyer.

“Can I have a beer tonight,” Pospisil asked Niemeyer.

“When have I ever said ‘no,’” replied the passionate former pro. “You can have a case.”

++++

That's Fred all over.

NB another sign that Fred is better as a coach than as a player: he was wretched in live 5th rubbers, but his pupil has shown he is definitely up for the challenge.

I think he should play if he can, it should be an easy QF in a 125K

Re: Vasek Pospisil

Really nice quote from Vasek's excited father here:

http://blogs.montrealgazette.com/201...p-goes-canada/

“If you think about it, it’s unreal. I don’t know where he got the strength,” Milos Pospisil told Open Court from Vancouver. “I can’t believe it’s happening. You have these dreams, and all of a sudden, we are living the dream.

“I’m really happy, that’s for sure.”
