Wow, I didn't even realize he got DE. I expected him to be in the qualies, and when he wasn't I assumed he had decided to go back and prepare for DC in Vancouver after that Friday loss to Bemelmans. Was very pleasantly suprised when I say his name while doing out the FITD
he didnt really pressure rufin on serve that much. he had 2 break points in the match and both of those were in the first set when rufin was serving at 3-3
So he's back to Wilson after a short trial with Dunlop racquet. It was somewhat expected, as he said it gave more power but less feel. Not sure if wearing that Adidas gear today means something or not.
A loss against Zverev in qualifying in Memphis. Vasek needs to learn how to elevate his game when playing lower-ranked players. He seems to show his best stuff when the underdog.
you have these players that really wake up for the big names and then let down against lower ranked players and as said he definately seems to be one of those guys
Vasek is the top seed in Delray Beach Qualifying and is down 5-2 40-0 to Benjamin Balleret when rain suspended play. Vasek needs to work on his return game and second serve. They have been big weaknesses this year based on his statistics.
he's not ready for atp yet..which is maybe weird to say but i think people maybe got a little excited about him last year and thought he'd be higher then where he is right now
COURT5 start 10:00 am
F Dancevic (CAN) vs A Brugues-Davi (ESP) - ATP
[WC] M Puig (PUR) vs K Chang (TPE) - WTA - NB 12:00 Noon
P Duclos (CAN) vs R Bemelmans (BEL) - ATP
V Pospisil (CAN) vs M Rodrigues (FRA) - ATP
btw, Vasek may have problem by the time he gets on court, strong wind is coming later in the afternoon and strong wind in the desert is definitely no good.
