Is Vasek still without a coach? Maybe Roger can play just fine without a coach, but most players can't. And Vasek definitely can't.

Verdasco in round 1. Should have an opportunity.

Re: Vasek Pospisil

Vasek actually won a tiebreak. Up a set against Baghdatis right now, on serve in the 2nd.

But he loses the 2nd set tiebreak. Into a 3rd set we go...

I watched the whole match. What's more surprising is how close he got to winning considering he pulled up in pain every 4th point or so due to the recurring back issues.

Sounds like it might be prudent to shut it down for the rest of the season

He needs about 20-30 points to guarantee a MD spot at the AO so will probably stick around because of that.

I noticed on Vasek's ATP player page that there's still a blank under "Coach." I understand that player bio information isn't necessarily up to date. Is Vasek still coach-less? If so, it seems like he's been flying solo for a while. Does anyone know what exactly is going on with his coaching situation?

He was working with Jan de Witt and Jan Vacek from the Break Point academy in Germany on a trial basis at the US open. Don't know if that is still a thing.

Re: Vasek Pospisil

Never going to see an easier qualifying draw for an ATP 500 than what Vasek got for Tokyo

Yup, just gotta beat the #432 & #259 ranked players. Easier than falling off a log, right? That spot in the main draw is like money in the bank! Oh wait ...
