Overall I feel that is a strong result for Vasek, as he was playing a tough opponent.
Yeah, he even made it closer than I expected, so I'll take this as rather an encouraging sign.

Re: Vasek Pospisil

Very good result, considering we only seem to talk about ERV during the grass season. Good result against a good grass player.
I believe he is signed up to play in Mexico next week if I am not mistaken?

Nice result for Vasek, even though he lost. Hopefully he'll do good in the challenger next week!

Maybe 4 or 5 if he wants to get more of a workout in.

WTF?!? You said something positive?

It's true though, I wasn't sure he would do as well as he did.

Re: Vasek Pospisil

So Vasek is in the main draw of the 100K Guadalajara challenger. He is the 5th seed and faces a Mexican WC first round. http://www.atpworldtour.com/posting/2011/6284/mds.pdf

Re: Vasek Pospisil

My goal for Vasek now is to crack the top 200. It shouldn't be too difficult if he just continues his good form as of lately.

Possible SF here? The number 1 seed is a claycourter, no?

Re: Vasek Pospisil

I can see him getting to the semis here at least. I have no clue which Souza this is? Is he the one Milos played in Estoril or is this another one? Either way, it's on Vasek's best surface so I hope he at least makes the Semi's here, would be disappointing if he didn't.

Re: Vasek Pospisil

Funny how fast things change, last year he couldn't even a buy a challenger win and now we will be disappointed if he doesn't make the semi's. We are watching two young Canadians growing up before our very eyes.

I wasn't here 3 years ago but was there this much excitement for Philip and Peter?

Re: Vasek Pospisil

There were way fewer posters, mostly just me, Lee, d_s and valexie03. There were only like 4 or 5 posts a week. No excitement for Bester, he rarely played and when he did, his results weren't great. I was a huge Peter fan so I guess I created some excitement for him and the South American posters loved him, thought he would be really good.

Re: Vasek Pospisil

Vasek really should pick up some points here, a $100 000 challenger, and he's the 5th seed, 35 points for the semis and he's in a quarter with a claycourter. The only person in this draw who I would think should beat Vasek is Reynolds and he's on the other half and Vasek took him to 3 tight sets earlier this year, this is such a weak challenger, Vasek needs to take advantage. I'm kinda glad he didn't qualify at Wimbledon now so he can take advantage of this

I've only been a member here for a little over a year, but I think there's always been a lot of activity on the Canadian Players thread. And lets face it, the nationality with the most posters here on MTF is Canada. I see Canadian flags EVERYWHERE on this forum, even more than American flags.. not that it's a bad thing, I love your country

Yeah, its really changed. A few years ago, most Canadians didn't post in here. TMJordan, RagingLamb, and the big group of Serbian Canadians stuck mostly to GM. Now those posters have disappeared somewhat and there are lots of Canadian posters.
