Re: Vasek Pospisil

Wow. Didn't catch this match, but what a scoreline. First 10 games on serve, then Vasek reels off 7 games in a row before Donskoy holds serve again. Vasek serves it out for a comfortable 7-5 6-1 win. Hope he's back in the groove & its not just Donskoy playing poorly. Anyone see the match and can comment?

Next up Isner (who hasn't been in great form recently ... some injuries though). Lot's of aces coming up in that match you have to figure.

Re: Vasek Pospisil

Vasek df Donskoy 7-5 6-1

The match was tight in the first set with both players not doing much on return. Vashy was a bit rusty and not moving well but played better as the much progress. Near the end of first set, Vashy tightened his game, hit with more margin and Donskoy started self-destruction. Vashy finally converted his third set point on Donskoy's serve. He won 7 consecutive games at 5-5 in first set. And serve out the match easily.

Re: Vasek Pospisil

Both players played well in set 1, in set 2 Donskoy's level totally dropped off and Vasek's stayed the same.

I like his chances vs. Isner considering he's beaten him indoors before, I'm really liking the way he looked out there, best he's ever looked IMO, new coach seems to have done wonders for his game, should be back in the top 100 in no time, he's certainly back at that level, future looks very bright again.

Re: Vasek Pospisil

Ugh. Vasek wins only 5 return points in the whole set, and none in the tie break, and loses it 7-6(7-3). It's a good thing he's a good fighter; otherwise he would have no chance of coming back.

Well, maybe he was having an off day energy-wise considering the recent mono. Hope he doesn't end up like Soderling.

No way is he like Soderling, as far as I can tell the mono is behind him, Sod has CFS, pretty sure Vashy does not.

Did you take his blood?

I'm sure your right and it's behind him but I don't get why you would say 'as far as I can tell'

For some reason, I wasn't surprised at all by how untidy it was.
On a remotely related note, it looks like he's switched his apparel sponsor to Asics.

I say that cause he's actually playing tennis again, what more proof do you need.

Re: Vasek Pospisil

Vasek has a great draw for first two rounds of qualifying in Delray Beach. Then should face Smyczek, Ginepri or Erik in qualifying round.
