Oh wow, I thought he had trouble with R. Williams usually.

Let's hope that was because he knows he will be a LL.

Re: Peter Polansky

I didn't have much faith after Pete went down 0-6 in the first set, especially in light of his loss to Williams 1 and 1 last week. But he pulls through to final Q in Miami against Thiem 6-2 and 7-5 against Gojowych. Good win. Had a chance to serve out at 5-3, but was broken. Saved a lot of big break points today and got the winning break at 6-5. Love it when guys win the close ones like this, great for confidence.

Re: Peter Polansky

Seeded 3rd at Houston qualies, first match on clay this year vs. Crepaldi today. Not a bad draw. Interesting to see in his section that the Zverev brothers (Polansky has beaten both this year) drew each other.

Re: Peter Polansky

Two nice wins fro Pete yesterday, 7-6(7), 6-1 over Crepaldi and 7-6(3), 7-6(4) over Ante Pavic (who is off to a good start on the challenger circuit this year). Thiemo de Bakker today for a spot in the main draw. He's the 2nd highest seed left in qualies, if Ryan Harrison wins today he is the first lucky loser should a spot open. Hope he can just take down de Bakker and avoid that scenario.

Have you been to the Houston event before? Would love to hear your insights if you have been.

Re: Peter Polansky

Never. But green clay is my favourite surface. I always watch even though its a bit less prestigious than most events. I care a bit less now that it is on red clay though.
