Re: Peter Polansky

So the good news is that Peter is at a career high of 157. And nothing to defend for a while so he has good chances of going higher.

As misty said, his performance in the final was horrible. Not sure what has happened to his serve - it seemed to have lost all bite.

As things turned out, it was a pity he couldn't have had a double step in to lose the dubs and singles finals, and himself flown Saturday to Italy for his next tournament. I am afraid he will now lose 1st round because of the long journey etc.

Re: Peter Polansky

He is actually the highest ranked player in the draw in Italy, which means he will probably lose first round.

Nestor - Chvojka - Pospisil - Raonic - Peliwo

Re: Peter Polansky

Yep, a loss. Again, he started really well with an early break to go up 2-0, but Arnaboldi was always competitive in Peter's service games, and the Italian's superior serving was the big difference.

Pretty weird to see him go from Panama, to Italy, isn't ideal prep, and it was costly in the end.

Re: Peter Polansky

Peter is 3rd seed at Rencati Challenger in Italy. He plays Brydan Klein of Australia. Very beatable. He should do better here than last week.

Indeed. I thought he was too passive and too many errors - he could have gotten away with one, but not both.

I don't get his program. He's gone from Panama on clay across the ocean to clay in Italy. Stayed in Italy but this week on hard. Next week still in Italy but back to clay. Then back across the ocean all the way to Vancouver on hard. And then Rogers Cup in Toronto.

I realize there may be good reasons and a good plan behind this, but to an outside observer it looks unfocused and just too much.

i'd love to hear what the reasoning behind it is myself.I agree with you from an outside perspective it just looks unfocused and i dont know how he expects to get any kind of rythym at all when he's switching surfaces every week

Re: Peter Polansky

Well, Peter is 3rd seed at Orbetello Challenger in Italy. He can pick up a few wins here given the draw. Imo, I think at some point Peter should try qualifying for ATP 250 events this season. I want him to crack the top 100. The same goes for Erik Chvojka.

Polansky won his first round match 60 60, he only lost 19 points the entire match. Next round will be a bit tougher.

Re: Peter Polansky

Polansky lost in the 2nd round again this week. Not the best trip to Italy.

Re: Peter Polansky

Pete's into the final of Canada F5, where he gets his real pre-US Open qualifying workout, a match against Udomchoke.
