Re: Peter Polansky

Polansky can't hit winners outright with his forehand but he can open the court with it and finish with it.

Polansky hits with a lot of spin on his forehand but can hit some winners with that shot. I wouldn't call him completely weaponless because he can hit some good forehands and serves. But in comparison to Dancevic or most top 100 players he's simply less talented.

Polansky isn't that good a volleyer, I'm not exactly sure how that would get connected with him. He's not really comfortable at net either, from what I've seen of him, he certainly isn't the type who enjoys coming to net except when he knows he will win the point.
No, he doesn't. Everything else seems accurate but Polansky might have the best return of serve of any Canadian besides Raonic.

Peter Polansky
Nestor - Chvojka - Pospisil - Raonic - Peliwo

Re: Peter Polansky

Looking at the score line this morning it appears Peter may have squandered match points in the second set. Was anyone following online?

milo's return of serve isnt that great, i would definately put peter's above his

you used to be able to say vasek's return was a strength too and i would have ranked his above milo's but im not sure what exactly has happened there

No, he was serving second, so no matchpoints. Was looking strong, but then things fell apart in the TB for some reason. Very disappointing.

Dancevic can hit clean return winners and hits some good slice returns that stay low and are difficult for opposing players to handle. Polansky doesn't have that in his game. Polansky is just a standard, average returner.

I think that there needs to be someplace that you can go and read a basic overview of a player's game style, because there are just so many players out there it's hard to keep track of them all, especially if you have never heard or seen someone, sometimes you will have 2 players with very similar but not quite the same style play each other, so it can be hard to tell just what kind of game they have.

Where should I ask here?

Re: Peter Polansky

I got a tweet from Peter Polansky on twitter. He tells me Wimbledon is the only grasscourt event he's going to play this season.

Re: Peter Polansky

Polansky faces Pablo Galdon of Argentina first round Wimbledon qualies. If he wins that he will face most likely #20 seed Odesnik.

Re: Peter Polansky

It would be nice if he could get his 1st grass court win. He has played 3 times in Wimby qualies and lost 1st round each time.

And he does indeed win - comfortably: 6-4, 6-1.
