Re: Canadian Players 2

The ITF site has him winning by that score, so it seems to be true, hard though it is to be believe.

Re: Canadian Players 2

Unexpected is an understatement, he hasn't done anything over the last two years and all of a sudden he will have three points.

Re: Canadian Players 2

According to ITF, Kelsey started playing tennis at the age of 15. Surely that can't be right?! But if somehow it is, it is remarkable what he has achieved in 5-6 years.

I noticed that too that it says 15 and the fact that he is ambidexterous is pretty amazing.

Congrats to Stevenson, nice to see him get a ranking after spending a long time trying.

Re: Canadian Players 2

take a look at the draws people winnable 1st rounds for all 4 canadians and winnable 2nd rounds for 2 of them however 3rd round is most likely where it would all end

with murray in the way of milos and kuznetsova in marino's way

has there been a grand slam where every single canadian has advanced into the 2nd round?

I don't think this has ever happened. Will be awesome if it finally does! (Never mind that we just jinxed them.)

If you mean combined men and women, the last I can find is '03 Wimbledon, with Niemeyer beating Mantilla in R1 and Drake beating Nicole Pratt, both then lost R2. I didn't really remember how long we went with noone in GS MD on either side, there was a 3 year gap for men which overlapped with a couple year drought for the ladies.

Re: Canadian Players 2

Diez lost his QF against Estruch, 3rd set TB. At least a whole lot closer than when he lost decisively to him last year.
