Re: Canadian Players 2

Martin Beran also won his first point in a Spanish futures by straight-setting a guy ranked in the 500s.

That's a big win by Martin, much tougher to grab a futures point over in Spain than it is playing in Canada.

Re: Canadian Players 2

Another sign of the strength of our top players now - all six in singles are playing the ATP 500 event in Washington (and I suspect our top three in doubles as well), and not the 100K challenger in Vancouver

Re: Canadian Players 2

Great win by Brayden Schnur today, against a top 100 player. The only bright spot for Canada in Toronto today.

Was really bizzare to see a challenger in Canada without one Canadian player though

Yes, nice win for Schnur, but Ebden hasn't been in good health.

Schnur does it again today. Great to see another Canadian earn his way into the main draw.

Yes good result for Volfson. He's got more points than Tabilo now if I'm not mistaken...

Re: Canadian Players 2

Martin Beran made a big choice, deciding to go pro last year instead of going to a D1 college. He had some tough losses over in Spain, a lot of three setters, but he's starting to get some results in Canada.

Re: Canadian Players 2

Tough draw for the Canadians at Granby, with Polansky drawing the top seed and Bester drawing the second seed. Bester leads one set to love as I write this. Lacko seems pretty listless.

Re: Canadian Players 2

who do you think gets the Montreal WC's? Vasek has one already. The 3 others probably between Frank, Filip, Peter, and Schnur. Frank probably gets one for sure. Schnur qualified last year so maybe a reward, Peter 2 years ago in Montreal and got a set of Kei. Peliwo for playing Davis Cup the weekend. Bester would be the only other realistic option.

I'd guess Vasek, Frank, Schnur, and a non canadian
