Schnur d. Bester 7-6 3-6 7-6
Mentally very good, choked serving for the match but got it done in the end anyway. Brilliant week.

Hard to believe going to college is the right choice. At the very least he should skip fall semester and play more pro events to see where he's at come January.

He's from Pickering, Ontario but went to train in Florida at a young age. Once the NTC was developed he came back and started training there. I remember playing seeing this kid play in a Men's League all my coaches played in when he was 12 years old. He won U18 nationals last year.

He's not going pro though, he's attending North Carolina next year

Re: Canadian Players 2

Not a good futures event this week for the Canadians. Peliwo was the only winner yesterday(beat Ochotta). Juneau beat Di Feo today and the winner of Erik/Milan will survive.

Unranked Kylar will probably lose as he's playing a seed. Our only 3 players left could be the result of 3 all Canadian matches

Schnur was up 5-2 in the 3rd set and lost 5 straight games

I still trust that Filip may win this thing to salvage some good from a so far bad tournament

Re: Canadian Players 2

I wonder if Schnur will reconsider his decision to go the college. It was probably made before his recent success.

He easily won the G1 in Repentigny without coming close to losing a set.

He could become a solid top 100 within a few years. From what I've seen, he doesn't have any glaring weakness.

Re: Canadian Players 2

No. He's playing a futures in Toronto according to Valérie Tetrault.

I'm guessing that he never expected he would get a special exemption into the main draw.

Carol Zhao said that a bunch of them were not entered as whoever was supposed to forgot to enter them.

Re: Canadian Players 2

Tabilo gets what I think is his first ATP point today in Canada F7. Looks like Juneau will be ranked again as he is about to win. Hope Rotaru can as well.

Juneau won a match 2 weeks ago in Winnipeg so that will be added next week so he would have been ranked regardless, but this is a 2nd point now

Why is Filip not playing this event?

Rotaru won!! I forgot that it takes 3 weeks during the US Open for rankings to be reflected in the futures.

It was definitely his first pro point, he just turned 16. He's been on a roll himself, winning U18 nationals a few weeks ago. Next week he'll be playing a G2 Junior Event, and should go deep.

Re: Canadian Players 2

Krainek is in the final of Mexico F20 after beating G. Quinzi in the semi-final.

Good result and also, has a chance in the final against a player ranked lower than him, but a guy on a good run.
