Re: Canadian Players 2

Can't wait to see how Filip plays here, Peter is obviously playing well since he always has 3 games off of Reix, so either Peter was way off in that final round of qualies or Filip was awesome.

erik chovjka crushed filip peliwo 6-1, 6-2 in 58 minutes

he broke once that means he held serve twice in the entire match

QF is possible for both but if matthias and karol get there too i think thats as far as they'd go

Re: Canadian Players 2

Vasek is going to make the QF for sure, and maybe the SF depending on who he plays.

Re: Canadian Players 2

So the Vancouver entry list has been released and Bester, Duclos, Chvojka, Polanksy and Pospisil all are directly into the main draw. Diez is the next Canadian in but he is currently 11th ALT so he will get to the main draw by a wild card.

Frank Dancevic hasn't entered this tournament (or any tournament this week).

Re: Canadian Players 2

well so much for erik having a good run here as some predicted him to

he got demolished by tatsumo ito 6-1, 6-1 in 53 minutes, he earned 9 points on return the entire match

Re: Canadian Players 2

am i the only one thats concerned/ embarrased for the canadian guys a bit?

i mean, sure they have been against much higher ranked opponents but they have all been swept aside with no effort at all by the opponents. You look at the women though and while they have faced much higher opposition they have given very good accounts of themselves

Re: Canadian Players 2

that's just canadian tennis, we will never be a powerhouse and we wont be bottom of the barrel. We will always fluctuate from high middle to low middle of tennis countries. It's just the reality.

Well.. look at it this way: at least it can't be worse than Norwegian tennis. Our best guy is currently ranked around 600, and we're in the worst Davis Cup group in Europe, with "tennis powerhouses" as Iceland, Georgia and Macedonia. That is something to be proud of! Or maybe not..

DELPO

Also supporting known chokers Verdasco, Lopez and Monaco

They let him play tennis once after they saw his "consistency is everything" advertisement.

Re: Canadian Players 2

Well with Frank, Milos and Vasek all out with injuries, I'd still give the wildcards to only Canadians at the Rogers Cup in Montreal. There's no way in hell I would give a WC to Hewitt or any other fading star player or anyone foreign. Screw that.

My wildcards go to...
WC - Bester
WC - PLD
WC - Diez
WC - Polansky

My qualifying wildcards go to Canadians as well.
Damn, it sucks Milos and our other top players are out with injuries.

Re: Canadian Players 2

Who says they are out with injuries? Frank plans to play and I would bet Vasek will too he probably just tweaked it.
