Re: Frank Dancevic

It's frustrating, his 3 previous service games before that TB he held to love in all of them, Busta never held serve to love in the entire match, thought he'd have the advantage in the TB winning so many service points in a row, and he proceeds to lose 2 in the TB

Re: Frank Dancevic

Probably the best draw Frank could have got, WC followed by a WC/Qualifier, and then probably Lorenzi

Re: Frank Dancevic

I don't see Dancevic ever playing for the Davis Cup anymore, him and Polansky lack the mental fortitude to win big games unlike Pospisil and Raonic who both seem to have ice in their veins.

Re: Frank Dancevic

Sadly, Frank burned that bridge and may never rebuild it. If that is a decision TC has made, then I am fine with them sticking to it, I just hope that they don't waver on whatever their plan is based on his success or lack of success.

Re: Frank Dancevic

i hope not. I hope that frank and TC can eventually make up because he is a good davis cup player, and when he's on he is still one of the best we have

i know frank would love to have the chance to play for canada in davis cup again and i would hate to think that after everything one ugly little incident cost him the chance.

on a positive not frank cruised through his first round today

Ya i totally agree. Its to bad cause frank would be such a great asset for the team, it would possibly mean 3 top 100 single players on the team. I am not sure tennis canada handled the wc situation properly, i think they should of had a talk with frank and said they expect him to play davis cup in return for wc and other funding and support they have given him threw the year, but still give him the wc for this year and not burn any bridges.

Maybe it's just a one year 'punishment' and that was TC's plan all along. All I am saying is that I hope that first, they had a plan when they didn't give him a WC and it wasn't just because someone was angry and secondly that they follow that plan, independent of results. That's how an organization or an individual becomes respected. Not by wavering and changing their minds a bunch of times and if Frank had to be the 'example' well its too bad for him, but longterm it could be good for Tennis Canada. Of course this is all speculation, it could have just been an angry decision, we will never know.

Re: Frank Dancevic

I thought when the whole situation occured that they told Frank that he wouldn't get a WC for this years Rogers Cup and wouldn't be invited to play for the team in the next tie. I'm not sure where i got that impression, whether I read it somewhere or if that was what I assumed, but I kind of had it in my mind that that was it and next year he could play DC again and get a RC WC. I hope that is how it will work, it would be a shame for him to never play DC or the Rogers Cup again
