Re: Frank Dancevic

any speculation as to why Frank withdrew from Newport considering he didn't play Davis Cup and has a lot of points to defend?

Re: Frank Dancevic

well he's either injured

or he's still hurting from that terrible loss to mello at wimbledon and wants to take more time off to recover mentally

i really dont blame him, it was easily the worst loss of his career and it will probably take a while to get over it

Re: Frank Dancevic

Strange Polansky has also withdrawn from Newport but Bester (who is on Davis Cup) still hasn't withdrawn.

Re: Frank Dancevic

Newport doesn't have a Q list though, just a list of ALT's who will never get directly into the main draw anyway, just because they're withdrawing from the ALT list doesn't mean they won't sign up for qualies does it?

Re: Frank Dancevic

hmmmm hard to say but most players dont bother to withdraw from the alt list for no reason, I'll guess we'll have to wait and see.

Just terrible. Dancevic should just see a shrink and take the next 6 months off.

Losses happen, sure it was bad, but its not like any one of us would have been in a winning position so I don't feel comfortable telling players what to do in their off-time. He clearly tried his best and that's all that we as fans can ask for.

Peter Polansky
Nestor - Chvojka - Pospisil - Raonic - Peliwo

Re: Frank Dancevic

i do think taking some time off after a loss like that is needed, i think it hits you hard mentally so if frank decided he needed another week off then so be it.

as for peter i think, by his twitter account that its pretty obvious that he was really depressed about losing to schoorel in the way that he did so if he to decided that he needs a little time off to recover then its probably msart

ofourse i could be wrong and there could be another reson but i just think thats what their doing

Re: Frank Dancevic

I better not see Frank or Peter in the Newport qualifying draw, they both would have gotten in directly had they stay in the ALT list, boy is Newport an awful tournament. Current DE cutoff is 211

Re: Frank Dancevic

Apparently Frank's back has been bothering him for about the last month so he is taking time off on advice from his doctors. Isn't sure if he'll be ready for Granby.

Re: Frank Dancevic

Frank has just withdrawn from the Lexington challenger next week, which allows Chvojka to get into the main draw.

Re: Frank Dancevic

So Dancevic didn't put his name on the Main Draw or Quali list for Rogers Cup so unless he asks for a WC he wont be playing there.
