Re: Frank Dancevic

Saw a chunk of the first set before I went to bed; I was hoping Frank would give Gasquet a little scare at least, but I wasn't too surprised. Hopefully he can at least take some confidence from qualifying, and get on a good run to push back up to the top 100. He'll have a nice chance for some ATP points in Joburg.

I second this. all in all it was a good AO for Dancevic. he played solid during the qualifying rounds and I truly believe he would have made it further if he hadn't had to face Gasquet in the first round. He was just very unlucky with the draw (again)..

I hope this can give him the confidence he needs though and hopefully get a few more wins in some challengers. He certainly has the weapons to do that. I see Frank playing better and better and it finally looks like he's (almost) fully back after his injury!

He's more consistent and mentally strong than Peter. and it seems like he has an easier time winning matches too. I think Frank is the #2 Canadian after Milos. And I don't think it'll be too long before the rankings mirror that either.

They let him play tennis once after they saw his "consistency is everything" advertisement.

Maybe 4 or 5 if he wants to get more of a workout in.

Re: Frank Dancevic

Well we've all been waiting for Frank to get into some sort of groove again ever since summer '07 but it hasn't quite come together for one reason or another. Hopefully 2011 will be injury free and we can see some solid results that we know he is capable of achieving.

Yep, well, I certainly hope so at least

Do you know where he's playing next?

Re: Frank Dancevic

he's playing a challenger the 2nd week of the AO(or at least he was entered, I haven't checked the list in a couple weeks), can't remember which one though, maybe Reunion Island? it should be on the tennis teen entry lists, and also in the challenger section of MTF

Yeah in one of Tom Tebbutt's blog posts he mentions that Frank is going to play Reunion Island, Johannesburg, then qualies in Memphis and Delray Beach

Frank drew the top seed Feliciano Lopez in the first round in Johannesburg.

Frank is on serve, up 3-2 in the third set against Lopez but the match has been suspended.

Re: Frank Dancevic

Wolmarans up next for Frank, a real chance here to get a big points haul. Nice to see him deliver in the close moments of an important match.
