Re: Frank Dancevic

I don't think he is playing Eastbourne because it is the same week as Wimbledon qualies.

Typical Frank losing in 3 sets. He really needs to be more ruthless and improve his defensive game. He couldnt have got a much better draw, he must hope for a nice draw in Wimbledon if he gets in with his protected ranking or qualifies or after Newport he could find himself in the 400-500s.
Wow, awfully harsh considering he's been out for nearly a year?

Tough luck today but good to see him competing again.

Federer / Youzhny / Ancic / Raonic / Dancevic

Re: Frank Dancevic

I think it's too bad ATP doesn't give points for qualies, I mean Frank won three matches and received no points. I like it better how the WTA does it and the players receive some points for every win.

Re: Frank Dancevic

Well he did get five points for qualifying for the tournament so there is at least that.

Re: Frank Dancevic

Unfortunate draw for Frank in Wimby qualies; he gets Mahut, a definite grass lover, in round 1. That is his toughest match in the section, though, if he wins, he should be able to press on and qualify. They've split two prior meetings, with Frank winning the most recent, at Miami last year.

He'll also play doubles qualies, with Adil Shamasdin.

Re: Frank Dancevic

dropped the first set 3-6 to mahut

down 0-3 in the second

he's done, down 0-4 and 15-40, even if he holds he has never pressured mahut's serve so it's hard to imagine him being able to break

adv. mahut

mahut breaks for 5-0

Re: Frank Dancevic

Injury or not - extremely disappointing stuff from Frank

From the out of nowhere category though Polansky is serving for the first set

Yikes, lopsided loss. Tough draw but geez, three games!

Re: Frank Dancevic

I figured he'd lose against Mahut, but I was hoping for at least a little fight

Frank's the kind of player who can have a great run out of absolutely nowhere, just like he did this time last year, but it'll be tough work to get back from the hole his ranking has fallen to. He's gotta win some matches in Newport, though he doesn't look in any form for it.
