Re: Frank Dancevic

Dancevic/Santoro tomorrow at 3.00 (10 am EST). The betting sites should have it covered. Frank is 0-2 against Fabrice, last match was a three set loss on grass in '07. Should be fun to watch!

Re: Frank Dancevic

Wimbledon draw is out. Frank drew Steve Darcis of Belgium in the first round, should he get through that he'd likely have Karlovic in round two.

Darcis is a good player but is only 3 -10 this year so he's not exaclty playing great in 2009, definitely a good chance to at least defend his points from last year. As for Karlovic, that will be tough but as long as Frank can take care of his serve - well anything can happen in those tie breaks so who knows.

Should he win both of those matches, he'd have Tsonga... which, well, would very likely be the end of the road.

Re: Frank Dancevic

They're playing in very windy conditions. Santoro his usual self - lots of fantastic lobs, passing shots, and slices but Frank is holding his own so far. Entertaining stuff.

You can watch here: http://www.atdhe.net/7394/watch-atp-wta-eastbourne

Update: Frank breaks at 4-4 and serves out the first set, 6-4.

Obviously we don't a chance to see Frank play very often but after watching him this week it boggles the mind how he could have lost so many matches this year to guys ranked out of the top 100. Even though he's struggling with his first serve today he has such a fluid game and is very gifted at net. His groundstrokes are a bit inconsistent but very explosive. A joy to watch.

Re: Frank Dancevic

Frank with the break, serving at 5-4 C'mon!

It's been a fun match thus far, lots of good points and some tough holds for Frank

Re: Frank Dancevic

Tursunov looked very impressive today, he'll have to play very well to win. Can't wait to watch.

Re: Frank Dancevic

So can we just assume from now on that Frank will always draw Tursunov in the finals of an ATP tour tournament?

This result couldnt be more timely. With all these points to defend, a few more first round losses and Frank might have woken up in August as the THIRD best Canadian player on the tour!

Re: Frank Dancevic

Let's hope not!! When Tursunov is dialed in he's very good. But he's also pretty flakey, I hope he wakes up cranky tomorrow.

Re: Frank Dancevic

Frank loses the first, 6-3

He's done basically nothing on Tursunov's serve so far, hopefully he can pick it up

Re: Frank Dancevic

Still on serve, but he's playing more positively in the last few games, he's got a decent chance to even it up

Frank

All in all, a good week, but a disappointing result. But, if you told me last Saturday he would made the final, I would have been thrilled. Hopefully he can keep his momentum going

Re: Frank Dancevic

Pretty much what I expected out there today, still it's disappointing. I wish he had at least taken a set off Tursunov.

Still, amazing week. Lets hope he builds on this and has a solid second half of the year.
