His height makes no differnece to his skill.

That said, Im not surpirsed by Dancevic's recent results watching him play Fish. He doesnt move his feet, his forehand is on the run is still awful, he doesn't look like he cares really. Real disappointing after seeing him in the 2007 season.

Re: Frank Dancevic

You don't think an individual's height has any impact on how good a player he is? I'm going to assume you've never played a sport in your life, let alone tennis, if you don't understand that someone who is 6'3 has a distinct advantage over someone 5'2 in strength, speed, etc. The fact that Rochus has overcome these deficits is a testament to how skilled he is.

You obviously have no idea, sell your nonsense somewhere else please.

Re: Frank Dancevic

Clearly you have no idea.

You have to beat your opponent if they are 5'1" or 6"10. Rochus is a mug if he is 5'1" or 6'10". You cant say hes a good player because he's short.

Its like saying Nate Robinson is a better dunker than say Rudy Fernendez because he's short. Thats simply not true.

Or that Jason Blake is better than Sidney Crosby because he's short.

Or that Dustin Pedroia is a better player than Manny because he's short.

And if watched Frank play Mardy Fish, I'd love to hear your opinion, but in mine, he isn't close to the player he was in 2007.

Re: Frank Dancevic

although I honestly think Frank is a good player after watching him in person 4 the 1st time Sunday in Delray Beach I think he sufferes from a touch of JMG syndrome & wish he would think less of his looks & more on game...either way the camera does seem 2 love him

Are you being argumentative and obtuse on purpose? Or are you really this thick?

You completely missed my point. I am not suggesting that *because* he is short he's better than anyone. It is not a coincidence that there is no one else in the top 100 who is 5'2 or anywhere near that height. Most athletes that short, no matter what sport, couldn't even become a nationally ranked junior let alone go on to win ATP events. ALL I AM SAYING is that, considering his physical limitations, his achievements are impressive. As someone who is a fan of the game of tennis rather than just a results-whore, this is something I can appreciate. But I think this point is beyond your comprehension so let's just move on.

Re: Frank Dancevic

Anyone in the Toronto area going to the Davis Cup tie this weekend?? If any of you MTFers are going to be there get in touch and we should try to meet up.

I wasn't able to go yesterday but I am going to be there Sunday, really looking forward to seeing Frank play live again. The atmosphere should be fantastic. He won his first match against G. Lapentti 7-5 in the third which is a good sign. Canada is tied with Ecuador 1-1.

Re: Frank Dancevic

He withdrew before Davis Cup even started knowing the timing was tight and wanted to be 100% before the next tournament started. He is on Florida with his coach getting ready for Miami.

Re: Frank Dancevic

So I'm assuming that this new coach is working out well and they'll be together the whole year?

Re: Frank Dancevic

Frank's draw for qualifiers in Miami opens against Mahut, then probably Dudi Sela should he win, so a potential rematch from a match won by Sela in Memphis. A challenge, but hopefully he will come out of his break on some good form

He should be able to easily beat Sela, but who knows how he will play.

Re: Frank Dancevic

Frank in a tight one with Mahut, going to a third.

He was down 2-3*, and 3-4* in the second, but broke back both times, and forced a tiebreak. He was down 1-4* in the TB, but then won five straight points and took it 7-5

C'mon Frank

Re: Frank Dancevic

We need some wins here. March is nearly over and he's won a whopping 1 ATP match this season. Best of luck!
