I figure he held back since the real objective in the next few days is to qualify for the aussie open, although he's had trouble in the last few years doing that well in the second of back to back matches. I doubt, though, that's he's playing with enough form to get it done this time round, to qualify for a slam. He played rather poorly all autumn and I guess the short off season didn't change things for him. Too bad because he played really well in August.
At the start of the match he could barely get a 1st serve in, by the end he was serving around 70%, but only won about 50% of those, won 40% on 2nd's, did poorly defending BP's, he wen't way down in both sets, then played a bit better, or Stak let up just a bit at the end of the sets when it was too late, maybe Stak is maybe just a really poor matchup for him, I think his 1st's were decent enough, just looked at their last meeting last year in Basel, Dancy played better, but Stak played even better than today.
