Re: Frank Dancevic

As a big fan of Frank, this was one of those matches you never forget. He was just unplayable. Hope he can keep his momentum and do well in Dallas (and maybe on sunday).

Unfortunately, he has this tendency to get injured when playing well. This may sound a tad negative, but it would be so typical of him to get injured playing a dead rubber on sunday. He will probably want to play no matter what.

Re: Frank Dancevic

Nice win Franki considering the time to be able to adjustafter Dream Win for Canada.
The bad thing is that Vasek will be in the danger zone for the next Davis Cup Tie. Bandwagon player is looking forward to take his spot.
Vasek , Frank, Milos and Dan played for years to get where they are now. It will be interesting what painted Tenns Canda Federation will do or decide.

Re: Frank Dancevic

Indeed a nice win.
It always surprises me what DC wins can do to players. Hope he stays fit for a couple of months. Could be nice ones with the US HC coming up.

Re: Frank Dancevic

So much comedy in the second set. Pospisil was up *30 and *54 400. He also had at least 3 ads. Frank eventually got the break back and the breaker was a trainwreck. Frank was "always" a minibreak up, but gave it back immediately every time. **65 turned into 67**, and again to **87. Pospisil hit the return way long, but wasn't called and Frank said "come on" in a complaining way. He got a point penalty for distraction, but eventually got it done.

Now Yani awaits, and we should see another all canadian match in the QF (Levine.)

Re: Frank Dancevic

Frank breaks at 54* to take the set. Pretty even contest so far, but I think Yani was slightly better before Frank turned it up when it mattered most.

Frankie beating in the second.

64 61

Levine awaits in QF. I expect a close match.

I have a good feeling about this one for Frankie. He tends to play well in Dallas - could make a great run here if he can get past Jesse - though I like Zverev's chances to make it to the final

Re: Frank Dancevic

I wonder if Jesse beats Frank if this will help justify picking Jesse over Frank for the Davis Cup team.

Re: Frank Dancevic

The thing is, Frank at his best, as how he was against Granollers, is a better than Jesse at this best, but Jesse is more consistent. I think for Canada ever to get beyond the semis (and in most years the quarters) in DC is for their to be at least one giant killing, which FD can give. Jesse is better for WG play-off ties, or Americas group one ties (which there shouldnt be for seven or more years, less Milos gets hurt, of course).

Agree

Peter Polansky

True, cause Frank's best ranking was 65, and Levine's is 69.
