Re: Frank Dancevic

Guys like Gabashvili? Gabashvili is a pretty decent player, he was hurt for a while this year, that's why he's ranked so low. I believe he made the 3rd or 4th round at the french last year or the year before didn't he? I would say he's on par with Frank results wise

Well, he played an excellent dead rubber, did a nice in-court interview in French and is flying to Turkey tonight at 9pm.

It was funny to watch him talking to Laurendeau during the match - he uses the same hand movements as Laurendeau to illustrate his points. I guess he must have picked it up while he was being coached by him.

Re: Frank Dancevic

Thought he might take the tiebreak once in it. I think he'll play well this fall - would have been jetlagged today and against a solid opponent.

Well beating Bolelli on indoor hard isn't that impressive if that's what you are suggesting, as he's pretty much just a clay player.

Will hopefully take Ruben in the next one, but will probably be a closer match.

Re: Frank Dancevic

Retired from match. May be the flu - he looked sluggish from the warm up on. Thought I saw him gesturing to his foot when was telling the umpire he's done, so could be a foot injury too.

Maybe it was just his foot the whole time, don't know why you think flu.

Re: Frank Dancevic

'Cause he looked to running okay during the match, just looked to be tired, and it's the flu season. Hopefully it is a bug and not another injury.

Tournament drawsheet is listing it as a left ankle injury.

Maybe he looked sluggish cause he hasn't played a match in a month, doesn't have enough match practice.

Re: Frank Dancevic

Maybe. Wonder why he took so long off from match play? Anyway, hope the ankle isn't bad and he can get ready to come out firing next year.

Re: Frank Dancevic

Frank was listed to play Yokohama, but is not now. Was hoping he would finish against a weaker field there and in Toyota city next week, and get a few points before the season ends.
