Re: Frank Dancevic

Frank is playing in the afternoon today if all the matches finish on schedule. You can watch him on the Vancouver Open's live streaming section, here's the link,

Re: Frank Dancevic

Great to see Frank win two matches in a row, first time since injury. And to come back and win a match in a three sets is also encouraging. Wonder how much he'll have left for next round, which might not be played till Friday however.

Re: Frank Dancevic

I thought it was a good win yesterday. I watched most of it and I was worried that he seemed to have difficulty keeping his focus. This was well illustrated in a game in the 2nd set where he saved 6 BPs. He kept playing loose points on deuce, and then tightened things up when BP down. He finally won the game and cruised from there.

It was nice to see him really fight for it and come through.

Re: Frank Dancevic

Into the semis with a 6-4, 6-2 defeat of Bemelmans. Go, Frankie.

He played exceptionally well, by his own reckoning

It looks like he could overtake Vasek for the #2 spot in the next little while (Vasek has a lot of points to defend).

Re: Frank Dancevic

The big test of how the back is is today. Till now he's had a day off between matches. Sigsling's been sizzling so I can't see Frank getting any farther this week.

Re: Frank Dancevic

He played really well, all things considered, just ran out of gas in the very end. (He lost 7-6(2), 3-6, 6-7(2).)

Re: Frank Dancevic

Got the last 'top' seed and is rewarded with Gabashvili, should be a good first round match for Frank. Gruel could be a bit tougher R2 and Yang or Veic will be a bit tough but Frank should qualify I think, if he plays to his potential.

Peter Polansky
Nestor - Chvojka - Pospisil - Raonic - Peliwo

Re: Frank Dancevic

I agree - if he plays okay to good, and the back holds up, he will qualify, unless someone goes on an unexpected tear.

Re: Frank Dancevic

Potentially a tough little section, a bunch of guys who have been pretty good at times but aren't in any form, you never know when they can find it in these qualy matches. I think he's the favourite in the section, but it looks like it could be some tough matches.

Re: Frank Dancevic

I think the first match with Gabashvili will be tough. As long as he takes care of business there, I like his chances to qualify - health permitting of course

Re: Frank Dancevic

Frank - managing to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory

I saw he had at least one match point at 5-4 in the second. Does anyone know if he had more.

Re: Frank Dancevic

I have to say this result was pretty disapointing from Frank's part. Frank has no business losing to guys like Gabashvilli.
