Re: Ranking Watch

Great to see Milos climbing up the rankings! We all said that he can climb up the rankings this Summer because he has no points to defend because he had hip surgery this time last year! He will be seeded #15 at the US Open and can get quite far in the tournament and collect points to make him higher in the rankings! If he concentrates, he will soon be in the Top 10, but next year, he will need to defend all of the points from this year (and he has had a great year this year so far). A lot of hard work but I believe in him!

Re: Ranking Watch

#15

Comparing his points with the people directly in front and behind Milos, it's safe to say that Milos will end the year between #13-#15, if everybody has their average performances.

If Milos ended the year Roger-style (or like himself, back in jan-feb indoor), he'd end the year 6th :P

Re: Ranking Watch

He should have a chance to move up as indoor is definitely the best situation for his game and his results last year were crap (still coming back from his injury). Would be super sweet if he could get to 9 (likely make the finals due to Nadal being out), but that is going to be tough.

Re: Ranking Watch

I find it annoying that he's currently ranked behind Isner. Fix this soon, please!

I'm not too worried. If he stays healthy, he'll rise back up into the top 8 soon enough.

Also he'll pass Isner for #12 if he wins on Saturday.

If he manages to beat Novak he'll return to the top 10!

Can't wait for the next few months. So many points available to him.

Re: Ranking Watch

Such a sad scoreline against Djokovic today. It will be interesting to see if Milos can hold off Murray, Federer, Nadal and Wawrinka in the rankings this year. So far this year, he is second to Djokovic in the race.

Re: Ranking Watch

Nishikori made up some ground this week, but Milos is still second in the race. Bring on the clay.

Re: Ranking Watch

The clay court season saw Milos drop from second to sixth in the race, as Murray, Nadal, Nishikori and Thiem overtook him. Will the grass court season see him catch any of them?

Re: Ranking Watch

He should catch Thiem easily. Maybe not during the grass season unless he goes super deep in Wimbledon, but later during the US swing he should, Thiem 'best of other' slots are all full with the worst result beign 180 points, meaning he can only improve that section with a 250 W, a 500 W or F apperance.

He can pass Nadal (285 pt difference) with a QF appearance or better at Wimbledon, he needs one round farther than Nishikori (assuming R4 or better for Raonic, 90 points difference), and the same with Thiem (155 point difference) if Raonic gets to the quarterfinals.

Edit: Also he would have been 4th had he won Queen's.

Re: Ranking Watch

3rd in the race now by reaching the QFs. And will keep that spot unless Federer or Berdych win Wimbledon. He only moves up in the weekly rankings if he wins though as even a final loss gets just 5 points shy of Nishikori, but a win would put him 5th, 205 points behind Nadal.
