Re: Milos Raonic

Milos is 8th in the ATP race atm and has a good chance to be 6th with a win over Kendrick. Pretty insane for a newcomer.

Milos

Hopefully that will be available on demand from sportsnet's website, as I wasn't able to follow it

He should be a heavy favourite against Kendrick, big chance here.

Re: Milos Raonic

Great win for Milos , It's a shame he couldn't close it in 2 sets but was very impressive what he did in the third when probably most people (including me)thought he'll lose after wasting 4 MP in 2nd set TB. Hope he's not too tired and can show a good level tomorrow against Kendrick. At this time Milos is 53th in the world, if he suceed tomorrow he will be in Top 50 next week and will have good chances of get direct entry in Clay Masters.

In other news he's officialy out of Acapulco qualies, I think is a smart decision

Re: Milos Raonic

if he wins tomorrow he can get a SE into Acapulco though can't he? Would be interesting to see if he took it, I think it would be nice to get 1 match clay practice before DC, even if it's a bit of a throw away match

Re: Milos Raonic

Kendrick might actually be a tricky matchup for Milos. He's playing well right now and the last time they played in Vancouver last year Kendrick won 7-6 6-4. It'll be interesting to see how Milos handles this match.

Re: Milos Raonic

I thought some of you who missed today's match might appreciate the amusing google translation of our Montenegrin friends' account. Who, btw, have upgraded Milos to "a Canadian of Montenegrin origin".

"Less than 15 hours after the second time in three days beat ninth world tennis players Fernando Verdasco, Milos Raonic went out into the field to play a second match circuit 500 Series ATP tournament in Memphis, once with eighthRacquet planet, Radek Stepanek. I beat him after a great drama and two hours and 32 minutes into the game with 6:4, 6:7 (10-12), 7-6 (7-1).

Course of the match

The guy who was born 27 December 1990. in Podgorica has started the match brilliantly, twice at the start took the 32-year service Čeh and led 3-0, but the player who is now the 65th the ATP rapidly decreased to 3:2.

However, it has preserved Raonić break advantage and got the first set 6-4. Canadian tennis player of Montenegrin origin "firing" of 11 aces, and one of his service was going at a speed of 237 kilometers per hour!

Almost all other classes are going at a speed of 233 kilometers per hour, of which three in the game in which the Raonić served for the set.

In the second tie-break set Raonić had four match points, of which one in your service. Stepanek got away with three straight points solve the drama score 12:10.Milos is also lost for only the second of 11 tie-break which was played this season.

At the third part of the game was not Breaks, although Raonic, as in the second set, had a few chances. In the tie-break Milos did wonders, led 6-0 and took his sixth match point total for the big 7-1."

Re: Milos Raonic

Milos will play the first match up, at 10 local, 11 Eastern. Means I probably won't be able to follow it again Kendrick isn't a bad player, but Milos has been in a different class from him this season. I think it'll be fairly close, most of Milos' matches will probably be, and I wouldn't be surprise if Kendrick snuck a set, but I don't think he'll be in any serious danger.

I'm not sure if he's eligible for a SE since he withdrew from the qualies. Anyway I think he should rest, Mexico has not a great team, and I think if Milos is not tired he won't have problems to win his 2singles despite they play on clay

I thnk he would be, last year when he played Toyko, I asked just for kicks if he made the semis if he'd be eligible for a Shanghai SE even though he wasn't signed up for qualies and was told by smucav he would.

I think Canada wraps up the Mexico tie in the first 3 matches, so Milos will probably only play once Davis Cup week, he can rest then

I'm just kinda really interested in how he'll fare on clay, I guess that's why i want him to play haha

Man this is a double fault fest by Milos, pretty bad serving on his part in this game so far.
