Here's the thread for Milos. Let all discussion about him now take place here

seems strange im the one finally making the thread

he's the top ranked canadian, 20 years old and ranked at a career high of # 153.

the highlights of his career came last year during the late half of the season when he made the final in a canadian challenger last year, beating 2 seeded players along the way before falling to german Tobias Kamke. He also beat the world #'s 1 and 2 in the doubles of the rogers cup and madce it to his first quarter final of an atp event falling to russian igor andreev.

Great to have a topic for Milos :yeah:, hope in next forum request you can get a Canadian forum because you deserve it, Ricardas and canadian players topics are very active and a lot of people post frequently in them so I think it's matter of time they get their own forum.

Thanks for the list. I think he's good enough to qualify, even beat the top seeds. But it really depends on a lot of factors. I'm expecting the matches to get pretty close, at least his final qualies match. He almost beat Roger Vasselin, and he's kinda good. So I believe he has a fair shot. Certainly the Canadian with the best chance to qualify. He's the only Canadian I see qualifying actually. But we'll see. Nothing is for certain yet. I hope he'll get a good draw though.

Thanks for starting this thread, misty :yeah:

Really looking forwards to Milos' season, I think he can be a solid breakthrough player, and crack the top 100 for sure :)

For those wondering, Milos has just 11 points that will come off before mid-April, when he has his futures wins in Korea dropping off. So he will surely continue to rise for the next few months at least.

WOW milos really got stuck with probably one of the toughest first round opponents he could have gotten in david goffin. The kid just finished taking wawrinka to the limit, he's very good and a very dangerous first round.

if he can get past gopffin he should qualify, there's tricky guys in there but no one else he should really lose to

Well it seems I was wrong about seedings 25-32 facing 1-8 in 3rd round :p, it is only for main draw

Conor Niland IRL (16) v Kevin Kim USA
Andrej Martin SVK v James Lemke AUS
Ryler DeHeart USA v Nikola Mektic CRO
David Goffin BEL v Milos Raonic CAN (26)

I was never heard anything about Goffin until last week, hope Milos can handle him

Goffin could be a really tough first round for Milos. He will have to play his best. Milos and David both had good runs at the end of last year and David has played really well at the start of this season. Should be a really interesting match but I wouldn't be surprised at all if Milos had trouble and didn't win this one.

Great start for Milos. Let's hope he carries it through to the second set.

What do you guys think is the meaing of the "winners" statistic? I often find on grand slam scoring, winners = aces and unefforced errors = DFs. But whenever I look Milos has twice as many winners as aces. I am wondering whether there is a programming error so that a multiplication of 2 has crept in.

Too bad Goffin retired. I think a full match actually would have been better for Milos. But like someone else said, his next opponents don't seem that tough, so hopefully he'll beat them anyway :)

I feel bad for Goffin though. Always sad to see someone win because a player retires.. Even though the player winning is your favorite.
