Paradorn gets new coach
In a bid to revive his fortunes, Thailand tennis ace Paradorn Srichaphan had hired Dean Goldfine as a part-time coach, commencing with the Indianapolis tournament next week. In the past Goldfine has coached several American stars such as Andy Roddick and Todd Martin.
Paradorn's father, Chanachai, said one reason was that Paradorn's brother, Thanakorn, who has been coaching him, has a lot of work commitments at Khon Kaen University.
This has meant that Paradorn, currently ranked 40th in the world, has been travelling alone and it has affected his game.
He said they could not afford to hire Goldfine full-time as that would have cost about 200,000 baht a week.
''He is happy to coach Paradorn but it will only be part-time,'' said Chanachai.
''We are hoping that with a new coach Paradorn will find some better form and get back into the top 20.''
