Re: Juniors

Veger has played qualie of another futures in Antalya these days. He demolished Checz Kobza (that is same guy who beated Coric this year) yesterday. Today he has played vs 15 months older US Open champion British Oliver Golding (currently #3 in the world, CH #2). He lost 5:7, 6:7 (2). It's nice to know he is on same level like junior GS champion. This was his 7th match in last 9 days, while Golding has played 4 matches in last 7 days. And I think he would won ih he had more days for recover from previous tournament. There will be 2 new futures in Antalya in December but there is no Veger on the acceptance list. Pitty. So this was probably his last (pro) match in this season.

Re: Juniors

Borna is on entry list for Orange bowl that will be played from 05 Dec to 11 Dec 2011. I think that will be his strongest tournament as of yet. Good luck!

Fan list: Cilic, Federer, Coric

P.S. Watch out for Donna Vekic and Borna Coric, 2020. Hopman cup winners. - posted in 2011, let's see if it happens

Re: Juniors

Borna will play with Pedja Krstin of Serbia vs 1. seed Ofner/Thiem in quaters of Eddie Herr tommorow. The match is sheduled for 6 pm CET.
Only one player was younger than Borna in MD (some great japanese WC; he is younger just for 5 days). Only Stefan Kozlov (the bigest talent in men tennis for ages) was younger in MD of Copa Yucatan. Both of them didn't make better result than him. Actually, he was better.
Interesting thing is That Kozlov is Macedonian (born in Skopje) but live and play for USA. Borna and he won doubles title last year at Eddie Herr (U-14).

Should be able to watch it on the streams, I think.

Re: Juniors

Anyone have any information on Croatian junior Karlo Lozic? He's into the QF of the Boys 14 tournament at Eddie Herr. He has beaten the #12 and #6 seeds.

He is from Split. After Domagoj Biljesko he is the best prospect from Croatia born 1997. But both of them are nothing special, especially Lozic. He is just average.

Borna is space shuttle for them. He is great talent and he will be high which is very very important. But he needs to go to some big academy if he wants to be real star. He should do that few years ago but even now it's isn't to late. With trainings in Croatia he will be just around top 100.

Re: Juniors

In the first round of the Orange Bowl Borna will play against Edward Nguyen from Canada.

Nguyen is 2.5 years older than Borna and he is # 151 on junior rankings. It's gonna be very difficult for Borna but he is under no pressure.

This is first time in his career for Borna that he is playing GA tournament.

Borna is the youngest player in main draw and one of only 3 players born in 1996!!!

Re: Juniors

Borna won 6:2, 6:2 vs Edward Nguyen of Canada, next one is 2.5 half older #8 seed Chinese Xin Gao (#30, career high). Borna should win this. Clay is his surface while Chinese probably doesn't know to walk on clay. And his position isn't realistic because he made all his points in Asia.
Borna could make great result here (quaters or more) because this is on red clay. I am sure he would do it if the recent tournaments held on clay.
From this year Orange Bowl is on clay.

Did you guys know that Nguyen was Orange Bowl U-14 runner-up (just like Borna one year ago) 2008? But Borna is already top 75 in juniors while 2 and half years older Canadian is #151, and was #117 at his best.

Those are very good news, I'm very surprised with this result...

I didn't check the draw. If he win he will probably play vs Coppejanes. So, it will be tough. Coppejeans is solid belgian talent. He has played alot of tight matches or sets vs top juniors. He never won but gave a trouble to them.

I wondering how on the earth Eddie Herr held on clay when we saw there were playing on hard. Only if we watched wrong matches, but there is some umpires so it was the tournament.

That Chinese played just once on clay (2 years ago) and lost easly his ever match on the surface.
