I bet Hewitt is glad he doesn't have to face Ivo again.
It's grass court season now. The fun begins!!!!!!!
Yeah it was definetly a relief for Hewitt because he was beaten by Karlovic twice.(Although both meetings are on Grass). He easily defeated Hrbaty because he was tired from the first two Marathon matches.
Too bad i expected to see Karlo vs Nadal. I'm hoping Federer or Nadal would draw Karlovic in early rounds. I'm hoping he would win Wimbledon this year.(Like Krajisek did in 1996. Until then Sampras won Wimbledon for 3 consecutive years.)
He made the final last year in main draw, he had better qualify. His draw isn't terrible though
(2) KARLOVIC, Ivo CRO vs. BOGOMOLOV JR., Alex USA
NIEMEYER, Frederic CAN vs. PARMAR, Arvind GBR
SELA, Dudi ISR vs. DUPUIS, Antony FRA
BOZOLJAC, Ilia SCG vs. (8) FALLA, Alejandro COL
I saw that Ivo retired from his match in the Stella-Artois qualifying draw yesterday leading 6-0, 2-4. Does anyone know what happened, is it serious. Does this put the grass court season in doubt? It's a shame he was hurt in the qualifying draw, his ranking was high enough that he could have gone directly into the main draw.
I just found out it was a knee injury. I don't know how bad it is.
Wimbledon draw is out. Ivo Karlovic faces Stan Wawrinka ( Who beat earlier in Barcelona in three Sets. But it was on clay though). He is in the brutal 1st quarter draw which features federer, Gasquet, Henman,Soderling,Haas,Berdych and Ancic. If Ivo reaches the 3rd round he could face his countrymate Mario Ancic.
Don't be sad. It was good effort from Ivo because I thought he was going to default. His grass court preparation is spoiled because of an injury. He retired at Queen's qualifying round after he took 6-0 1st set lead against Bogomolov. Anyway hard court tennis is coming up. I'm predicting he is going to a good US Open as the courts are much faster than these grass courts. Regardless he is having good year. I Hope he has a good Hard Court Season.
After 5 weeks out of action with injury . Karlovic returns to competitive Tennis in new haven. He plays Greg Rusedski in Rd 1. Rusedski also struggled with injuries and missed nearly 4 weeks before returing to Toronto. They played each other four times and split thier H2H meetings. The last meeting came at Madrid in last year where ivo won in three sets(6-7 7-6 7-6). It will a good match to watch. Good luck ivo.
6-7,7-6 just saved 2 mps and forced a 3rd set. Ivo's finally getting some of Rusedski's 2nd serves back and he's won 14 first service points in a row after starting out only winning just over 60%. Let's pull out the 3rd set! Prediction .... 7-6 Ivo
