Re: Brydan Klein: Australia's Big Hope

GOod luck today Brydan. Would be amazing if he can beat Wawrinka and continue his run, but you never know.

Surprised this match isn't on at least one of the Showcourts. Maybe Brydan's hired Amer Delic's fan club to come and give Wawrinka a hard time...

seeing the sort of kid he is I don't think that will bother him. he seems focussed on the tennis not media attention. Groth played well. Pity our other two wildcards performed so poorly against very average opposition.

Re: Brydan Klein: Australia's Big Hope

Nice work by Brydan and he kept it pretty close and competitive against Wawrinka.
Hopefully he can end the year inside the top 150

Re: Brydan Klein: Australia's Big Hope

Brydan has progressed his way to the final of the Burnie Challenger this week without dropping a set! With this result Brydan will move to around 202 in the world, if he can take out Zemelja tommorow he'll move to around 193 in the world and be the fourth highest ranked Australian on the tour.

However he does have some points to defend from last years future victories so lets hope he can gain enough points in Mildura (future) and Melbourne (challenger) to maintain a spot in the top 200. I'd say Klein is a very big chance to finish this year in the top 150 after the way he has started this year.

Re: Brydan Klein: Australia's Big Hope

Great work Brydan

Finally, he seems to be making some waves at ATP level.

Good to see we know have two legitimate prospects for the future in Klein and Bernard Tomic. I see them being Davis Cup players in the near future too, Carsten Ball was a fabulous decoy and won't be doing much more than he has already IMO

Re: Brydan Klein: Australia's Big Hope

Brydan has now extended his winning streak to 7 wins in a row.

1. Burnie 5-0
Miles Armstrong 6-4 6-4
Matt Reid 7-6(5) 7-5
Kyu-Tae Im 6-3 6-4
John Millman 6-4 6-4
Grega Zemlja 6-3 6-3

2. Mildura
Sadik Kadir 4-6 6-4 6-4
Jose Statham 6-3 6-7(2) 7-5
Kaden Hensel ???

Next victim is Kaden Hensel, lets see if Brydan can go one tournament without dropping a set and take the title then the next week go to three sets in each match and still take the title.

If he does accomplish this it would have to be some sort of record, the fact that its in two different tiers as well would make it hard for someone else to have done as well.

Re: Brydan Klein: Australia's Big Hope

He has beaten Kensel to get to the semi finals where he plays Andrew Coelho. Brydan also won the doubles with Matt Ebden. Well done and keep it up.
