Re: Brydan Klein: Australia's Big Hope

After a horror Davis Cup debut Brydan is playing in a 50k Bangkok challenger this week. This is his quarter:

7 Daniel Brands GER v Florian Mayer GER
Kittipong Wachiramanowong THA v Brydan Klein AUS
Dieter Kindlmann GER v Marsel Ilhan TUR
2 Hyung-Taik Lee KOR v QUALIFIER

Not the hardest first round for Brydan but he does have 30 points to defend this week and to do so he would likely have to make semi finals which would not be easy in this quarter. He should at least pick up a first round victory here though. Good luck Brydan.

Re: Brydan Klein: Australia's Big Hope

Brydan lost to the Thai wildcard in straight sets, I think he has lost a lot of confindence after that match against Udomchoke in Davis Cup.

shows how a loss against (players he could have beaen) udomchoke and tomic can hurt mentally.

He just couldn't control his anger. He threw the racket so many times and got
several warnings. Actually, his game was a lot better.

By the way, in the match against WC Thai, Brydan injured his ankle during the match.
So he couldn't move well right after.

Re: Brydan Klein: Australia's Big Hope

Anyone know where Brydan is playing next?
Hopefully this injury doesn't hold him back. He has made great strides so far this year

Good news, he is back to competitive tennis on the european clay in the Rome challenger next week. Following that he will play a hard court challenger in Spain. Then I would think he would play the challenger in Italy the week after, and then maybe a tournament in Croatia or France. But he is definetly gearing up for French Qualies thats for sure. Good to see one of our boys cares about all four grand slams.

Re: Brydan Klein: Australia's Big Hope

His below par form and clay wouldn't have helped but losing like that to Stadler is not good. Hopefully he can improve from that performance.

Baker (USA) - Bedene (SLO) - Bellucci (BRA) - Berta (SWE) - Cuevas (URU) - Domijan (USA) - Ebden (AUS) - Estrella (DOM) - Grigelis (LTU) - Guccione (AUS) - Heliovaara (FIN) - Kavcic (SLO) - King (BAH) - Kontinen (FIN) - Kubler (AUS) - Lajovic (SRB) - Matosevic (AUS) - McGee (IRE) - Millman (AUS) - Mitchell (AUS) - Nielsen (DEN) - Nieminen (FIN) - Paire (FRA) - Udomchoke (THA)

Re: Brydan Klein: Australia's Big Hope

Well it's been a while but Brydan has finally won another match. He beat Kristian Pless 6-3 6-4. He'll either play Dudi Sela or Naom Okun, doesn't really have much to lose so he could go out and maybe cause an upset against Dudi like Groth did last year. He's playing in Turkey on Hard next week and then heading to France for French qualies.

Not playing on clay prior to French qualies won't help but maybe he is more focused on gaining points right now than playing Grand Slams which is fair enough.
