Not sure if we've posted this - but continuing the ATP Doubles Rules features (with our very own Stretch and Beastie)...

Re: Jamie 'Stretch' Murray thread

Isn't it sad Ros that we tend to talk about Jamie more on Jelena's WTAW forum than here in his own?

Re: Jamie 'Stretch' Murray thread

Yeah Cat... hopefully if he and Max have a bit of luck on the dirt, we can drum up a bit more interest here... and where oh WHERE is this website, dude??

Anyway - Jamie's kindly installed a new facebook App (Where Are You Going)... and... this is where the boy is off to next:

Estoril, Portugal: Apr 14, 2008 - Apr 20, 2008
Monte Carlo, Monaco: Apr 21, 2008 - Apr 27, 2008
Barcelona, Spain: Apr 28, 2008 - May 4, 2008
Rome, Italy: May 5, 2008 - May 11, 2008
Hamburg, Germany: May 12, 2008 - May 18, 2008
Paris, France: May 26, 2008 - Jun 8, 2008

But oh my lord... jamie - the hair and the headband!!!

Oh but the suited and booted version:

Jamie is #5 in the list... and as for Ross H... be STILL my beating heart... that boy is a dish!

Re: Jamie 'Stretch' Murray thread

I am loving the name Mullet almost as much as Stretch and Beastie... but what I really really want is oodles of ranking points for Jamie, so that he and Max start getting a higher combined ranking for better seeding...(at least I think that's how it works!)

Re: Jamie 'Stretch' Murray thread

OK - let's not get TOO excited - but Jamie just updated his facebook status ... that he has had his haircut.... the cracking quote from Judy/Jamie about enough to stuff a mattress but it still resembling a burst couch springs to mind though...!!!

Re: Jamie 'Stretch' Murray thread

Oh jeez - triple post ... Oh well...

OK - Jamie round up!

Firstly - on a court to be announced... the Estoril MD Final will be probably around 1:30

Monte Carlo draw is out, and oh my - it's a toughie, but then... it is the Masters Series so y'know... they kinda have to prove they can perform consistently with the best doubles tandems as they prepare for RG

So... Go Mullet for this arvo and sneak in another Title... Stretch is havin' a good run down in the dirt this year .... way better than last year!

I like Max, I really do, but he's the weak link at the moment. I wish for him to get his act together!!! or for Jamie to jump ship

Re: Jamie 'Stretch' Murray thread

it is hard not to point the finger, but it is a team effort... and clay causes the big hefty servers all kinds of issues.

I think Jamie felt that they hadn't taken the chances - and certainly in Estoril Jamie and Kev had a few scares too...

I think it's wise they're staying on in Monte Carlo to prepare for Barcelona... and really I'd expect more from them there ahead of the next Masters in Rome I think... also - the key is for them to get some consistent wins so that their combined rankings start getting them seeded, so that they don't end up meeting top quality tandems first up...

I think Jamie achieved his aim of playing with a much higher ranked player this year - if their rankings swap and max ends up below Jamie (very unlikely now, I would have thought!) then I'd be a bit more concerned!

Re: Jamie 'Stretch' Murray thread

Stretch and Beastie-Watch

Quote:
Max Mirnyi and Jamie Murray snapped a four match losing streak, Tuesday at the Internazionali BNL d'Italia in Rome, defeating Dmitry Tursunov and Stanislas Wawrinka 7-5, 6-4 in first round action.

Mirnyi and Murray had last won a match together in March, when they reached the semifinals at the ATP Masters Series event in Indian Wells, though Murray had teamed up with Kevin Ullyett to reach the Estoril Open final last month.

They next face the top seeded duo of Bob and Mike Bryan, who are two-time finalists in Rome. Mirnyi and Murray have defeated the Bryans in two of their last three meetings, in the Delray Beach final and the Indian Wells quarterfinals.
