David Rice - 2014 his year?

Surprised there is no thread on the guy considering the 24 year old is currently the British number 8 and ranked 349.

He's risen about 300 places this year and is at his highest ever ranking winning 2 future titles in the process.

He's through to the last 16 in Knoxville Challenger after beating Austin Kajicek in the first round 6(4)-7 6-4 7-5 who is about 100 places higher than him in the ranking

He'll play Canadian Peter Polansky who is ranked in the top 150 this round.

Re: David Rice - 2014 his year?

he has nice groundstrokes and serve and has the potential. why he doesnt have a thread you ask, i think he lacks the charism on some other players(even though he is a very nice guy), and also he lacks guts imo to get to the top

Re: David Rice - 2014 his year?

Fair enough, I've never seen him play.

Made a decent effort in the second round today but fell to inevitable defeat 6-4 6-4

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2013_JS...bana_–_Singles

I've just edited the Wiki page, simple straight sets victory in the first round for him which should have set up a second round tie against the number 1 seed. However Erik Crepaldi (515) somehow beat him and will face Rice.

Great opportunity.

Won the second set 6-4 currently 4-4 in the third and Rice has squandered two break points in this game!
