Re: Barker Twins

They were in the semifinals of the USA F8 Futures today. Haven't found a result yet, but I just love that they are picking up these points each week.

Best twitter posts of the epic match:

@dougrobson - Whoever is supplying Mahut with hair gel needs to ink a sponsorship deal now.

@Wimbledon - FYI, with @Wimbledon live scoring devices, please add 50 to the games in the fifth set of the Isner v Mahut match.

@HolterMedia - Nice to see that a three-day test has come to tennis here @wimbledon.

Re: Barker Twins

my best friend knows a friend of theirs, she asked if they were still competing, this is what he told her:

"The Barkers tried quitting tennis but couldn't and are currently toiling on the doubles tour I think. At the least they should have a wildcard to Wimbledon next summer, but I haven't heard much from them. Rich was at Rondelet I think though."

(Rondelet is a formal held in the Spring - it would've been a couple weeks ago). I don't know what "couldn't quit" means... but wow, very cool about Wimby! Think the Brits are dying for a doubles team?

Re: Barker Twins

Seems like the article is unclear. they retired b/c they'd be forced to retire in a few years anyway.... so if the rules get changed will tehy unretire? From what people at Rice who knew them had said, they weren't really planning to really put everything into tennis anyway...
