Sounds like he's got some great potential. He almost beat Belucci in Nottingham qualies a couple months ago. I'm a little disappointed he won't be playing the USO juniors, though.
I would say definitely yes to the top200, his record in Futures over the last couples of months has shown that he is more than comfortable at that level and is ready to start hitting the challengers once his ranking is high enough. Whether he makes the top100 is a totally different question and is more often than not an unfathomable one; it could hinge on his desire and/or his development mentally/physically and simply his overall tennis ability. So, in conclusion.. I have no idea
Well, I am plumping for 'yes' with regards to reaching the top 200. I will be more willing to comment on Daniels' top 100 prospects at this time next year [by which time he could well be in the top 200..]. I think the main obstacle that Daniel has to overcome, and seems to 'be' overcoming at the moment, is his attitude - if he works hard and remains focused I don't doubt that the top 100 is a genuine possibility for him.
Well next weeks' Bauer Watertechnilogy Cup 2008 in Eckental is Germany's last Challenger of the year.. so yes, if the information is correct. The tournament is being played on indoor carpet so it will be interesting to see Dan's computability on the surface - we already know, to some degree, his credentials on outdoor/indoor hard.
Daniel Evans was born in 23/05/1990 in Birmingham. In 2008, jumped in rankings from #1180 to #477, with 3 futures titles and some consistent performances. He is coached by Mark Hilton.
Sounds a promising player
After getting a rap on the knuckles from the LTA earlier this year after some 'naughty behaviour' he seems to have re-focused and fully dedicated his efforts to tennis; obviously this is now showing in his top500 ranking.
I wouldn't be surprised if he got stuck at around the 350 mark for a little while, as this seems, historically, to be a tricky mark to pass for younger players [Just look at Jonathan Eysseric & Peter Gojowczyk]. Although, of course, he could break the trend, especially come the grass season.
Dan is no longer coached by Mark Hilton,Hilts coaches George Morgan.I already predicted that Dan will be british No2 by this time next year but needs to work hard.He his going to start the year off in futures at glasgow should do well if hes not had to much Turkey. LOL.
Lets face it have we got a number 2 really. One thing about Dan he is also a very good doubles player, he had very good record with Ricey has junior could carry that on with a good partner.
Yes we have a No 2, Boggo may not have achieved all he could so far but he has consistently been best of the rest for quite a while now.
