Daniel Evans

edit: Check his thread
The rising star Daniel Evans :)

Daniel Evans was born in 23/05/1990 in Birmingham. In 2008, jumped in rankings from #1180 to #477, with 3 futures titles and some consistent performances. He is coached by Mark Hilton.
Sounds a promising player

Re: Daniel Evans

Yes, seems like it..

After getting a rap on the knuckles from the LTA earlier this year after some 'naughty behaviour' he seems to have re-focused and fully dedicated his efforts to tennis; obviously this is now showing in his top500 ranking.

Big 2009 hopefully..

Sorry, I asked Denaon (administrator) to merge the threads

I hope we can see Evans playing challengers regularly by the end of next season

Re: The rising star Daniel Evans :)

ha that would be a bit of a push..

I wouldn't be surprised if he got stuck at around the 350 mark for a little while, as this seems, historically, to be a tricky mark to pass for younger players [Just look at Jonathan Eysseric & Peter Gojowczyk]. Although, of course, he could break the trend, especially come the grass season.

Re: The rising star Daniel Evans :)

Dan is no longer coached by Mark Hilton,Hilts coaches George Morgan.I already predicted that Dan will be british No2 by this time next year but needs to work hard.He his going to start the year off in futures at glasgow should do well if hes not had to much Turkey. LOL.

The world is Evo's oyster. I think he needs to get a bit more on his serve though to cope at challenger level

Lets face it have we got a number 2 really. One thing about Dan he is also a very good doubles player, he had very good record with Ricey has junior could carry that on with a good partner.

Re: The rising star Daniel Evans :)

Yes we have a No 2, Boggo may not have achieved all he could so far but he has consistently been best of the rest for quite a while now.

Re: The rising star Daniel Evans :)

Yes on paper Boggo is number 2,ranked 184 just goes to show the strenght of british tennis. But maybe the current crop of youngsters such as EVO WILLIS SMETHURST MILTON COX can push on and give us a bit more strenghth in depth. If Boggo was french he would not be in the top 20.

Re: The rising star Daniel Evans :)

He's in Britain F3 at Tipton t his week.

Scalped top seed Michael Yani (237) on way to semis.

Sadly he's drawn Stephane Robert in the semis and he loses to no Brit!

Next week he's a DA for F4 in Bath
