Re: The Rainer Schuettler Cheering Thread

Rainer

it's getting very interesting now what Kühnen will do now. Under these circumstances I would even say that Rainer shouldn't play singles and that Mayer at least gave Agassi a good match before he had to retire at the US Open.
But the shit is that Mayer is new to the Davis Cup and that he is playing on clay this week
not the best preparation also...

Carlos --- C'MON Lleyton!!! --- Kiwi!!! --- Jürgen --- Juan

Best of luck to all Germans : Nicolas Kiefer | Rainer Schüttler | Lars | Florian | Tommy

Rainer, being fan of yours is being masochistic

"Poor is the man whose pleasures depend on the permission of another" .. Madonna

Drooling after Schuettler, Bolelli, Volandri, Starace (short haired version), ToJo, Tursunov, Alves, Petzschner, Simon, Qureshi, Steve Johnson

Is there a chance of Rainer tanking because of Davis Cup ?

Re: The Rainer Schuettler Cheering Thread

I´m sure tanking is not Rainers style. Besides that, I think he would prefer to get confidence again by winning instead of resting and coming home early for Davis Cup.

Re: The Rainer Schuettler Cheering Thread

I don't think Rainer will tank any match, especially in his situation now.

It's weird that it seems there's a 'reverse of fortune' of him and his friend Youzhny in 2004.

Re: The Rainer Schuettler Cheering Thread

damn, so Rainer is ill as well. OMG
He already wasn't completely healthy during the Canada and Cincinnati TMS, and now he finally completely collapsed and must take a break of at least 1 week.
The team looks really bad now, I hope Mayer is ready for this big test.

Slovakia:
Dominik Hrbaty (very good season, top 20, good US Open)
Karol Kucera (lacks form, but very experienced, can step it up when playing Davis Cup)
Karol Beck (good US Open)

Germany:
Mayer (new to Davis Cup)
Kohlschreiber (new to Davis Cup)
Waske (no singles player)
Haas (all hopes in singles and doubles (?!) rely on him, ranked #32, ranking-wise the best German player)

Kiefer and Schüttler OUT

and Slovakia is with the best team they have

Carlos --- C'MON Lleyton!!! --- Kiwi!!! --- Jürgen --- Juan

Best of luck to all Germans : Nicolas Kiefer | Rainer Schüttler | Lars | Florian | Tommy

Re: The Rainer Schuettler Cheering Thread

Wiederaufstieg in Gefahr

Quote:

Kohlschreiber spielte beim Arag World Team Cup 2002 in Düsseldorf schon einmal für Deutschland.

Re: The Rainer Schuettler Cheering Thread

Neely, what exactly is "infektiöse Angina"? I thought angina was a heart complaint (and a serious one at that). Does Angina have a different meaning in German?

Re: The Rainer Schuettler Cheering Thread

yep, I'm not neely but I try to answer though
you have got an angina if you've got a temperature, a sore throat and so on
I hope now you know what it is

Re: The Rainer Schuettler Cheering Thread

As far as I know the german "Angina" is tonsillits in English.
That´s no good news for the German Davis Cup team. But on the other hand Rainer needs a time-out. He already had a flu during US Open and went to China instead of taking some rest. I hope this time he doesn´t rush and takes enough time to heal properly.

Re: The Rainer Schuettler Cheering Thread

thanks for the more detailed explanations
I couldn't even explain it in German what an "Angina" exactly is...

If Günther Jauch would ask me that question in "Who wants to be a millionaire" I would definitely have to use a joker LOL
