I think Kühnen could be right about the busy schedule and Rainer being burned out. It's mainly a mental thing, IMO. What he should do is take a nice long holiday (with me! LOL) and clear his mind. I really think he took too little time of after last season...

Can you really be that physically tired from playing one match each week if you lose mainly in the 1st round?
even if he plays back to back tournaments, when loses in the 1st round he has about 5 days completely off.
I think Kühnen refers to both mental and physical exhaustion.
And having 5 days off because of an early loss while travelling from tournament to tournament isn´t the same as some "real" rest I guess. I don´t think such 5 days are relaxing.
